Greetings of the day my foodies friends!
Its been a while since I last posted in Foodies Bee Hive, time flies and I'm getting busy a bit everywhere!
But anyways, here I am dropping some lines and sharing some delicious foods photos with you! And you will read from me often the next few weeks...
As you probably know, since yesterday, in many countries around the world , the month of Ramadan started!
Meaning our Muslim brothers and sisters will be fasting the next 29 or 30 days! I wish them all Ramadan Kareem and may you and all your family have a blessed one!
Last Ramadan, I posted nearly daily for a month and shared the different Iftaar tables that I set up at my place...
I want to repeat it again this year, hope you will like them!
Iftaar Table 01
Iftaar also known as futoor is actually the food/meal the Muslims have to break their fast when the sun is setting.
It differs from countries to countries and also depending on the financial situations of the household.
From my side we are blessed to be able to set up quite nice iftaar tables and I am happy to share the first one with you...
Can you spot my Hive Mug with tea inside!???
The first is always the most difficult one to set...but I am happy with the result! In couple of days it will become a habit and easy thing to do!
So today the main item was the delicious beef lasagna made by my wife with loads of Mozzarella...
It was by far the favorite of all for the first Iftaar...really very yummy! Oh well...everything was yummy btw!
Snacks...Soup...Fruits...Drinks...
We put out a lot of items for our first Iftaar table...
On the snacks side, we had chicken samosas and tuna fish spring rolls which we enjoyed with some spicy sauce!
Harira Soup...
My wife being Moroccan, you will always find the famous Harira Soup and Chebakia present...
Chebakia is a sweet made with sesame seeds and honey mainly which are best enjoyed while having your Harira Soup!
It's a classic in Morocco and surely in some other Arab countries too!
Below are some items that will also be present on nearly all our Iftaar tables...
- Dates
- Dried Figs
- Almond Briouat (samosa with pure almond paste and honey!)
And on the drinks side we had :
- Moroccan Mint Tea
- Mauritian Vanilla and Milk Tea
- Water
- Fresh Orange Juice
- Chilled Milk for the kids
Watermelon and Pears
Everyday we have to be sure to at least have 2 or 3 fresh fruits available on the table...after a day fasting, your body needs some fruits intake to get you in form for the next fasting day...
So today on top of the fresh orange juice, we had watermelon and pears on the table!
And some Chocolates too!!!
To make the Iftaar table a little kid friendly...I usually add on some chocolate items here and there...
In the end...everyone loves chocolate, isn't it!? Not only kids!!!
Here we are friends, a glimpse of my first Iftaar table for this year's Ramadan, hope you've liked it!
I will try to post as many as I can as the days go, I hope to share at least 20 different Iftaar tables on my blog for Ramadan 2022! I will try my best in achieving it!
It would be great if you could share your way of breaking your fast in your country/region by sharing some photos in the comment section below.
Thanks again
Have a blessed Ramadan ahead!
