Hi food buddies!
I just want to share how i stack my homemade cake and since it's a paid one i need to put some dowel so during the transportation it will stay intact. One of our biggest worry as home baker about the cake is how will the cake end up after the transportation, there are some cases that it will collapse or look like a smashed cake. The key is to secure the cake base and the stability of the icing but the client must also know how to handle the cake properly.
First, make sure that the cakes are already chilled and to prepare the icing , fillings, dowel (i used hard plastic straw instead) and other tools needed. On a cake board i put some melted chocolate before the 1st layer to ensure that it will stay on place, pipe an icing to the top side of the cake and pipe the filling inside.
After spreading the filling evenly, put another layer of cake and do the same.
Place the last layer of cake on top, and it will look like this.
Cut 4 straws according to the height of the cake, then insert them into the cake as shown below. These straw will prevent the layers from sliding.
I frost the cake, put all the designs and here's the final look.
Disclaimer: I am not a pro baker so the things i share is according to my experience as a home baker, from watching tutorials online and from my online group consisting of home bakers and some pastry chefs who shares tips about cakes.
Thank you for dropping by!
Stay safe everyone.
