Have you ever grilled your fish on a plank? I did it yesterday and boy I wish I could convey the smells through my pictures.
I used a cedar plank and it smelled so go burning on the grill.
Cedar Grilled Salmon
This is such a simple recipe.
Ingredients
Cedar plank
Fillet of Salmon
Salt
Pepper
Avocado
Mango
Olive oil
Lemon juice
Onion
Glass of water
Instructions
Soak the cedar plank for a couple of hours in water.
You are putting wood over a hot fire. Mine burned a little. Have a spray bottle or glass of water close to quench the fire.
Pre Heat the grill
Rinse the Fillets
Place fillets on cedar plank
Season the Fillets
Sprinkle salt and pepper over fillets and rub in.
Place the plank with salmon on the grill
Cook for 20-25 minutes
This will depend on the temperature of your grill.
Check the wood occasionally.
I did have to put out a little fire.
Enjoy the smell of burning cedar!
Dress with Avocado Mango Salsa
Cut and mix to combine- half a large avocado, a small mango, a portion of a red onion, half a lemon, some olive oil and season with salt.
This is one of my favorite recipes and cooking it on the cedar plank took it to a whole new level!
Note: If you want it to be lean and green. Exclude the mango from the salsa. It is delicious! My friend Angela is eating lean and green and loves the Avocado salsa.
