Donald Gorske, 67, has stuffed himself with enough Big Mac sandwiches to become a Guinness World Record holder, yet he has not stopped. To this day, this is still his staple menu.
The 67-year-old American retiree's achievement is the result of many years of hard work. Like a marathon runner putting in the miles, he devoured his Big Mac sandwiches. No hurry, every day! According to his documentation, since May 17, 1972, only eight days in his life have passed without him skipping a "McDonald's" round.

Donald Gorske, the "Big Mac enthusiast"
When he reached 28 788 burgers, he entered the Guinness Book of World Records, but recent years have shown that it was not the record that motivated it. He has not changed his weekly routine, going out for ammunition on Mondays and Thursdays, and on the other days he eats his stockpile heated up in the microwave.
Nowadays, he is over 32 000 burgers, still eats two a day, and has no intention of changing his habit. He tried a different kind of meatloaf once in the eighties, but he does not even remember it, let alone revisit it. On his birthday, he also has a BM celebration cake, with candles of course.
You would think that this murderously monotonous diet would have stressed his body, but medical tests show otherwise, his cholesterol and blood pressure were fine no matter how many times he was tested. This could be because he is already taking in few calories with two burgers a day, and if he takes some supplements, he is not missing out on minerals and vitamins. That said, he is two kilos lighter in 2018 than when he had her 25 000th burger in 2011 (when he weighed 83 kilos for his 188 cm height).
Perhaps the only greater miracle is her perseverance - to stick with one kind of sandwich for so many years is no longer sheer willpower, but a strange holy madness.
