I'm back again with a post of my favourite niche which is food. Yesterday, my family and I went to a seafood restaurant in Kuala Selangor for a lunch meal and to buy some dried anchovies as well. It's a location in another state for me but it is worth if because fresh goods at a reasonable price were only available here at the nearest for us. Otherwise, if they're good quality then they will be expensive and if they're reasonably priced then they won't be fresh.
We went to a famous restaurant here called the Riverview Seafood Restaurant. I have actually posted other food that I have had there. It has been quite long since we last went there so we had a good meal for our lunch to refresh the taste back.
By the way, while I can conveniently ignore this, I would like to mention that some of the pictures below are taken by my brother and some by myself. The vibrant ones are probably taken by him as he has a more advanced phone while mine appear a little dull.
This is the first item that came. It is called sizzling tofu. It came boiling and jumping as it was freshly taken off the stove 30 seconds ago. The greens are long beans chopped into small pieces and there is a large omelette at the bottom of the tofu. There were also many prawns and some mushrooms in the gravy.
This is the next item that came and it is a vegetable called kangkung. It can be fried by itself but in this dish they have added a local seafood condiment called belacan. It is a fermented shrimp paste with chilli and salt commonly used in local meals to enhance the flavour.
These are noodles fried in soy sauce with vegetables, prawns and tauhu. They are made heavy with the soy sauce and taste great when they're warm so we ate this first as it starts getting hard when it gets cold. I scooped and poured back the excess soy sauce into the empty bowl so it doesn't affect the taste of the other meals much.
This is seafood fried rice so it comes with prawns, fish cakes, long beans, carrots and eggs. This may seem simple but it tastes the best for me. I actually don't mind eating this alone without all the other dishes.
This is kam heong chicken which means the golden fragrance chicken. It is cooked in a special blend of spices. It's actually a homegrown recipe combination of a combination of the Malay and Chinese flavours. It is slightly spicy but tastes yummy. We are good as long as we eat the gravy with the rice and not separately.
These are all the items placed on the table. I forgot to take pictures of the drinks as I was very hungry and it was already 2.00pm. We reached the restaurant late due to traffic jams as it is the festive season. We just had regular Chinese tea served in a large pot.
Here's a little glimpse of the view. This is a river and many fishermen go fishing on their boats here. Even in these boats that look parked here, I saw a fisherman fishing. As the sun was shining brightly, the water appeared to have some sparkling effect.
