Bin beim Wandern diesem kleinen Monster-Käfer begegnet. Es dürfte sich dabei um einen Schwarzen Moderkäfer handeln der Familie der Kurzflügler.
Als besonderes Feature kann dieser Käfer im Kampf den Hinterleib ähnlich wie ein Skorpion aufrichten und ein übelriechendes Sekret absondern.
ps. Die roten Fühler und Beinchen sind ein Foto-Effekt, in real ist der Käfer komplett schwarz ;)
Devil's coach-horse beetle (Ocypus olens)

While hiking I came across this small monster beetle. It is most likely a Devil's coach horse beetle of the family of rove beetles.
As a special feature, this beetle can raise its abdomen like a scorpion in battle and secrete a foul-smelling secretion.
ps. The red antennae and legs are a photo effect, in real life the beetle is completely black ;)
