Italien hat laut einem Reuters-Artikel angekündigt, die Kapitalertragsteuer auf Kryptowährungen von derzeit 26% auf 42% zu erhöhen.
Dachte zuerst es wäre ein Witz (wegen 42), die Steuererhöhung scheint aber tatsächlich bereits für 2025 geplant zu sein.
Kryptowährungen würden damit höher besteuert werden als andere Spekulationsgewinne aus Fremdwährungen oder anderen Assets wie Aktien oder Gold. Weiß nicht, ob so eine ungleiche Besteuerung überhaupt verfassungskonform wäre.
Weiters plant Italien die Digital-Steuer (Digital Services Tax derzeit 3%) für Transaktionen im Internet auszuweiten und die Anforderungen zu reduzieren. Bisher galt die Digital-Steuer nur für Großkonzerne wie Google und Meta ab 750 Millionen Euro Umsatz in der EU und 5.5 Millionen in Italien.
Die USA sind über die Anhebung der Digtal-Steuer nicht sehr erfreut und könnten im Gegenzug auch Waren aus Italien mit noch höheren Zöllen belegen. War on Tariffs.
Was sagt ihr zur Steuererhöhung für Kryptos in Italien?
Befürchte, dass auch andere EU-Staaten die Krypto-Steuern anheben könnten in Anbetracht der großen Defizite, die die Regierungen wegen Corona, dem Ukraine-Krieg und der Deindustrialisierung (Auslagerung der Produktion nach China wegen Klima- und Energiekrise) zusätzlich angehäuft haben.

According to a Reuters article, Italy has announced that it will increase its capital gains tax on cryptocurrencies from 26% to 42%.
At first I thought it was a joke (because of 42), but the tax increase seems to be planned for 2025 indeed.
Cryptocurrencies would thus be taxed at a higher rate than other speculative gains from foreign currencies or other assets such as stocks or gold. I'm not sure whether such unequal taxation would even be constitutional.
Italy is also planning to extend its digital services tax (currently 3%) for online transactions and reduce the requirements. To date, the digital tax has only applied to large corporations such as Google (Alphabet) and Meta with a turnover of EUR 750 million or more in the EU and EUR 5.5 million or more in Italy.
The US is not very pleased about the increase in the digital tax and could impose even higher tariffs on goods from Italy in return. War on tariffs.
What do you think about the tax increase for cryptos in Italy?
I am afraid that other EU countries could follow and raise crypto taxes too in view of the large deficits that governments have accumulated due to corona, the Ukraine war and deindustrialization (outsourcing of production to China due to climate and energy crisis).
