The Meg is a 2018 science fiction thriller film directed by Jon Turteltaub The film is based on the novel Meg A Novel of Deep Terror by Steve Alten The film revolves around a team of scientists who discover a massive sea creature thought to be extinct the megalodon a giant shark that lived in previous geological times.
The story begins when expert diver and sea rescue commander Jonas Taylor played by Jason Statham is called upon to help rescue a team of scientists trapped on a submarine deep in the Pacific Ocean During the rescue mission they encounter a massive megalodon that is reviving the terror of the seas Jonas and the team must find a way to stop this massive creature before it causes a major disaster.
The performance
Jason Statham plays the hero Jonas Taylor and he gave a strong performance that matches his character in films that depend on action and excitement Statham is distinguished by his ability to present action scenes in a realistic and exciting way which is clearly evident in this film.
His role as an expert diver facing extraordinary dangers fits perfectly with his strong and composed personality Statham presented a good balance of assertiveness and the ability to think quickly under pressure making his character attractive and realistic.
