I'm glad I can finally post a TV series review in this community again. I recently watched the American series "Devil in Ohio." It's a thriller about a cult in an American city... Let's get straight to the review of "Devil in Ohio"!
Devil in Ohio
This series tells the story of a psychologist named Susanne who lives in Ohio with her husband and three children. One day she gets a mysterious patient named Mae... a victim of abuse with an inverted pentagram-shaped scar on her back. Suzanne, who herself experienced abuse as a child, sees Mae as similar to herself. That's what makes the two of them close. Even when there are no shelters that can accommodate Mae, Suzanne takes her to live with her family. Unbeknownst to her, that is the beginning of the disaster that will happen to her family...
The strange things that happened to Suzanne's family
Suzanna's husband and children initially felt awkward about having an outsider living in their home... But everyone was kind to Mae. Even her second child, Jules, became close to Mae. However, since Mae's arrival in their home... many strange things have happened to them. Mae also behaved strangely... and it made the family feel uncomfortable.
Terror of the cult
The strange events that occurred in Suzanne's family turned out to be due to the involvement of a cult.At first Suzanne only knew the girl's name was Mae and that she came from a town called Amontown... After working with a police officer, Suzanne finally discovered that Mae was a cult member who had escaped after being sacrificed. This made Suzanne feel sorry for Mae and try to protect her with all her might. Even when her family began to be terrorized by the cult members, she remained by Mae's side.
The stranger who destroyed the family
Mae's arrival in Suzanne's family was the beginning of their family's downfall. Just to save a girl, Suzanne put her entire family in danger by facing the terror of a cult... She didn't even know that the innocent girl she was protecting was secretly performing a ritual to separate her from her family.
This series is interesting and suspenseful... but I was disappointed with the main character, Dr. Suzanne. Why did she have to bring Mae to live with her family? The conclusion I got after watching this series is, never bring outsiders to live in your house... because besides making your family uncomfortable, they can also bring disaster to your family. Stay away from things like cults as much as possible, because they are very dangerous.
I think this series is recommended to watch... but you have to be patient when watching it because the main character is annoying in my opinion because she prefers outsiders over her own family.
