Buddy movies are a genre that manages to transcend the big screen and is also present in literature. An example would be the consulting detective Sherlock Holmes and his indefatigable friend Dr. Watson, the famous characters created by Conan Doyle.

You may change the age or gender of the characters or the era in which they move, but the one thing that never changes is their bond, their deep friendship.

As for the theme of the quiz, it's amusing that one of the film's subplots centers on Dr. Watson's future liaison with Mary Morstan and how Sherlock's apparent dependence on her means he can't help but try to sabotage it and cast doubt on the doctor's true intentions. For here Watson seems to show a weakness for gambling and bad company like Holmes.
En cuanto a la temática del concurso, es divertido que una de las tramas secundarias de la película se centre en el futuro enlace del doctor Watson con Mary Morstan y en cómo la aparente dependencia de Sherlock hace que no pueda evitar intentar sabotearlo y poner en duda las verdaderas intenciones del doctor. Porque aquí Watson parece mostrar debilidad por el juego y las malas compañías como Holmes.
All classic stuff that quickly takes a back seat when a former romantic interest of Sherlock's enters the picture, ruining any chance for bromance and triggering much of the film's main plot.
Todo un clásico que rápidamente pasa a segundo plano cuando entra en escena un antiguo interés romántico de Sherlock, arruinando cualquier oportunidad para el bromance y desencadenando gran parte de la trama principal de la película.
Although they are never on a first-name basis, friendship is one of the pillars of their relationship, which seems to be taken for granted at all times. As if only the doctor is willing to be patient enough to curb Sherlock's eccentricities, putting him in his place and giving him a few blows, if necessary, as only a true friend would.
Aunque nunca se tutean, la amistad es uno de los pilares de su relación, que parece darse por sentado en todo momento.
