The story begins at a resort in the Philippines where Tom has booked for families and friends, because he wants to have the perfect wedding. Darcy, on the other hand, only dreams of taking a trip to the ocean with Tom, but she loves him so much that she has accepted the engagement so as not to lose him.
Things get a little complicated with the arrival of Tom's mother (an extremely distracted woman); Darcy's father's new wife and the unexpected appearance of her ex-boyfriend which makes Tom jealous.
It all gets even worse on the wedding day, as Darcy doesn't feel comfortable in the wedding dress that was her mother-in-law's and the whole traditional wedding thing. At that moment, some pirates show up and kidnap the guests and demand a ridiculous sum of money from Darcy's father to deliver her safe and sound. What the pirates do not imagine is that Darcy will impose order.
This romantic comedy is refreshing and fun. Jennifer knows how to win the viewer's love once again in this type of genre.
The film is a reflection on life as a couple. The director puts our feet on the ground and reaffirms that a perfect relationship does not exist, they all have their ups and downs, no matter how beautiful they may look from a certain distance. Another very important theme is about female empowerment, with a warrior Jennifer who wields weapons and kneels down to ask for marriage.
I liked the movie, I loved Jennifer's character, a woman of these times who doesn't believe in fairy tales and just wants to have a realistic relationship with the man she loves.

La historia comienza en un resort en Filipinas donde Tom ha reservado para las familias y los amigos, porque quiere tener la boda perfecta. Darcy, por el contrario, solo sueña con hacer un viaje en medio del mar con Tom, pero lo ama tanto, que ha aceptado el compromiso por tal de no perderlo.
Las cosas se complican un poco con la llegada de la madre de Tom (una mujer extremadamente distraída); la nueva mujer del padre de Darcy y la inesperada aparición de su exnovio que provoca en Tom celos.
Todo se vuelve peor aún el día de la boda, pues Darcy no se siente cómoda en el vestido de novia que era de su suegra y todo el tema del casamiento tradicional. En eso, aparecen unos piratas que secuestran a lo invitados y piden una ridícula suma de dinero al padre de Darcy por entregarla a ella sana y salva. Lo que no imaginan los piratas, es que Darcy, impondrá orden.
Esta comedia romántica es refrescante y divertida. Jennifer sabe ganarse el amor del espectador una vez más en este tipo de género.
La película es una reflexión hacia la vida en pareja. El director nos pone los pies sobre la tierra y nos reafirma que una relación perfecta no existe, todas tienen sus altas y bajas por muy bonita que se vea a cierta distancia. Otro tema de suma importancia es sobre el empoderamiento femenino, con una Jennifer guerrera que empuña armas y se arrodilla para pedir matrimonio.
A mí me gustó la película, amé el personaje de Jennifer, una mujer de estos tiempos que no cree en cuentos de hadas y solo quiere tener una relación realista con el hombre que ama.
