John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States of America. The first entirely Catholic Christian president in the White House, he was also the last case of assassination in the tumultuous political history of the country of the stars and stripes. All these facts are important and relevant, because they are the cornerstone of the fictional book, written by the most privileged mind of the 20th century in terms of mysteries, thrillers and horror-fiction, the great Stephen King; and ultimately, the inspiration for Hulu to launch this miniseries within its catalogue of streaming repertoires, on 15 February 2016, and which reflects quite accurately what King described in his novel, and which also flirts with the charming and extremely appealing idea of what happened in Dallas, Texas on 22 November 1963. An event that changed the world, without a doubt. And one that, to this day, remains controversial and mysterious.
In this sense, Hulu bet as a company on a guarantor when it comes to good stories of suspense and psychological thrillers, as well as fiction. A virtuoso, who for the entertainment industry has brought countless box office hits: "Pet Cemetery", "Carrie", "It", and now this fascinating story of suspense, lots of action, adrenaline and above all, immense reviews within the always explored idea of time travel, which has always amazed audiences historically. In fact, the very first episode immediately reveals what the series is about with just its name, "The Rabbit Hole". The same name with which Alice, falling out of her deep sleep in the famous Disney animated film, tells of falling down a rabbit hole that connects two realities. That of the physical, objective world, and those of another in some other time other than the starting point or towards a more magical, epic sense.

Todos estos datos son importantes y relevantes, porque son la piedra angular del libro de ficción, escrito por la mente más privilegiada del siglo XX en materia de misterios, thrillers y ficción-terror, el gran Stephen King; y en última instancia, la inspiración para que Hulu lanzará esta miniserie dentro de su catálogo de repertorios vía streaming, el 15 de febrero de 2016, y que refleja con bastante exactitud lo descrito por King en su novela, y que además coquetea con la idea encantadora y sumamente atrayente de lo sucedido en Dallas, Texas el 22 de noviembre de 1963. Un hecho que cambió al mundo, sin lugar a dudas. Y que hasta ahora, aún sigue siendo controvertido y misterioso.
En este sentido, Hulu apostó como empresa a un garante en cuanto a buenas historias de suspenso y thriller psicológicos, además de ficción, se trata. Un virtuoso, que para la industria del entretenimiento ha aportado innumerables éxitos de taquilla: "Cementerio de Mascotas", "Carrie", "It", y ahora esa fascinante historia de suspenso, mucha acción, adrenalina y sobre todo, inmensos repasos dentro, de la siempre explorada idea sobre viajar en el tiempo, que desde siempre ha maravillado a las audiencias históricamente. De hecho, el mismísimo primer capítulo nos revela inmediatamente de qué va la serie con solo su nombre "The Rabbit Hole".. Mismo nombre con el que Alicia, al caer después de su profundo sueño, en la famosa película animada de Disney, relata caer en un hoyo de conejo que conecta dos realidades. La del mundo físico y objetivo, y las de otro en alguna otra época distinta al punto de partida o hacia un sentido más mágico y épico.
In "11/22/63", during the 8 chapters of the entire miniseries, the plot goes through a fascinating premise: "what would have happened if John F. Kennedy had not been killed in Dallas Square by Lee Harvey Oswald? And with this idea that obsesses two of the important figures in the plot, a marvellous story unfolds, full of challenges, challenges to the very understanding of science and concepts such as time, paradoxes, theoretical physics and above all historiography. Since the aim is to change a fact that, according to the protagonists themselves, has only brought bad deeds for humanity. However, "time does not like to be messed with...". And from there, you can infer what it's about (and those who have no idea what it's about, don't worry. At the end of the post, I'll leave a trailer so you can watch and be encouraged to follow this unique and under-produced Hulu production).
James Franco, Sarah Gardon, Christopher Cooper, Daniel Webber, Josh Duhamel, and George McKay, are just some of the representative figures that are present in this short production. Shocking, challenging, full of a singular love story and with a powerful suggestion towards conditioned thoughts: that is, those that are related to abstract events that never happened but that could have happened if a series of questions had been asked previously for that purpose. This is how life is a mysterious succession that leaves viewers with a deep sense of reflection and helplessness with respect to events or actions that shape the curious problems and circumstances we all see and witness in our daily lives.
En "11/22/63", durante los 8 capítulos que dura la totalidad de la miniserie, el argumento pasa por una premisa fascinante "¿qué hubiese sucedido si John F. Kennedy no hubiese caído muerto en aquella Plaza de Dallas, a manos de Lee Harvey Oswald?". Y con esa idea que obsesiona a dos de las figuras importantes dentro de la trama, se desarrolla una historia maravillosa llena de desafíos, de retos hacia la mismísima comprensión de la ciencia y de conceptos como: el tiempo, las paradojas, la física teórica y sobre todo la historiografía. Puesto, que el objetivo es cambiar un hecho que, según los propios protagonistas, solo ha traído malas acciones para la humanidad. Sin embargo, "al tiempo no le gusta que se metan con él..." Y de allí, pueden inferir de qué va (y aquellos que no tengan idea de lo que trata, no se preocupen. Al final del post, dejaré un tráiler para que puedan ver y se animen a seguir esta singular y poco producción de Hulu).
James Franco, Sarah Gardon, Christopher Cooper, Daniel Webber, Josh Duhamel, y George McKay, son tan solo algunas de las figuras representativas que están presentes dentro de esta corta producción. impactante, desafiante, llena de una historia de amor bastante singular y con una poderosa sugerencia hacia los pensamientos condicionados: es decir, los que guardan relación con hechos abstractos que nunca sucedieron pero que podrían haber acontecido de haberse llevado una serie de cuestiones previamente para ese fin. Es así como la vida es una sucesión misteriosa que deja en los espectadores una profunda sensación de reflexión e indefensión con respecto a hechos u acciones que dan forma a los problemas y circunstancias curiosas que todos vemos y presenciamos en nuestra actualidad diaria.
A bit of an eye opener, the second episode is titled "The Kill Floor". And as the name suggests, it has quite dramatic and shocking content. Evidently, it is. And without further ado, an example of what I've been arguing about the real consequences of changing something from the past, it's watched with unparalleled precision and gripping script art. Plus, it's almost virtually impossible not to be able to empathise and let your guard down quite a bit in this particular episode. So much for spoilers. Not even to tout my admiration for both S. King's novel and the Hulu miniseries is reason enough to allow spoilers within a review that aims to encourage audience curiosity and above all, promote the beauty of a somewhat decaying art of "suspense" or "thriller" cinema.
Un pequeño abrebocas, el segundo episodio se titula "The Kill Floor". Y como el nombre lo sugiere, tiene un contenido bastante dramático e impactante. Evidentemente, es así. Y sin más, un ejemplo de lo que he venido argumentando sobre las consecuencias reales de cambiar algo del pasado, se ve con precisión inigualable y un arte de guión atrapante. Además, es casi virtualmente imposible no poder empatizar y bajar bastante la guardia en este episodio en particular. Hasta aquí los spoiler. Ni siquiera para promocionar mi admiración tanto por la novela de S. King como por la miniserie de Hulu, es motivo suficiente para permitir spoilers dentro de una review que pretende alentar la curiosidad del público y sobre todo, promover la belleza de un arte en cierta decadencia como es el cine de "suspense" o "thriller".
Finally, for conspiracy lovers, in "11/22/63", the multiple explanations (at least the most famous theories) are dealt with by the plot within the imagination of the protagonist, and have a secondary role; which in my opinion gives it a rather elevated air of grandeur. The focus is on the situations, conflicts and problems he has to deal with while trying to leave no trace of a past that refuses to be totally or partially modified. It should be noted that Stephen King himself is the executive producer of this miniseries. Which, a priori, only denotes that he has agreed with the final result of the script and the adaptation of his famous best-seller for streaming televisión. So, if you want an honest recommendation, you wouldn't be wasting your time if you watch this amazing story. Believe me, it's totally gripping.
Finalmente, para los amantes de las conspiraciones, en "11/22/63", las múltiples explicaciones (al menos, las teorías más famosas) son abordadas por la trama dentro de la imaginación del protagonista, y tienen un rol secundario; lo que a mi óptica le brinda un aire de grandeza bastante elevado. Ya que la atención se centra en las situaciones, conflictos y problemas con los que tiene que lidiar mientras intenta no dejar rastro con un pasado que se niega a ser modificado total o parcialmente, Cabe destacar, que el propio Stephen King es productor ejecutivo de esta miniserie. Lo que, a priori, solo denota que ha estado de acuerdo con el resultado final del guión y la adaptación de su famoso best-seller para la televisión por streaming. Así que, si quieren una recomendación honesta, no estarían perdiendo el tiempo si ven esta increíble historia. Créanme, es totalmente atrapante.
