Recently, I published my impressions after watching episode 1 of the series. When we finished watching episode 3, I asked myself out loud: "Feige, what on earth got into your head to put such trash in episode 1?! After all, the subsequent episodes are noticeably better!" The series is still not at the level of previous seasons, but at least we can watch it without feeling embarrassed. Is it the best series in the history of the MCU? I haven't seen all of them, so I don't know, but judging from the opinions of friends and bloggers, it is either the best or one of the best. Does that mean it's good? Compared to previous MCU series, maybe. In the case of Netflix, it is worse in EVERY respect. There will be a few small spoilers in the review, but I will avoid the most important ones.
What don't I like about Born Again? Almost everything. I'll start with the typical safe corporate filmmaking. Some scenes don't look like they were created by a studio with large financial resources. I even get the impression that they were made by novice employees who aren't yet familiar with the camera. Others, on the other hand, smack of artificiality, like Daredevil during some of the fights or when our protagonist jumps on the roofs of buildings... I can't defend the latter, because in every episode it looks terribly cheap. As if it were a cheap remake of an old game. Some scenes are impressive, especially in the second half of the series, which is better in my opinion, but it's still a corporate product. Born Again tries to pretend that it has a soul. Even if I fall for its charm for a short while, the infatuation fades after a few minutes.
I see the artificiality of the action scenes. I see the lack of creativity and the creator's "claw" - I feel like it was made by accountants, not real film experts. I see the same, schematic cuts done in the same way. While it doesn't bother me in films, it does in series (especially those created for streaming, so they don't have restrictions on the length of the episode). Especially when I see them so often. It's the same with some dialogues or scenes presenting characters - it's all too sterile and artificial. I'm not saying that every scene is like that, because I would be lying. Unfortunately, they are the majority. When it comes to showing fights, they are getting better with each episode, but they are still far behind the original creators. I still see scenes with cuts, but at least they try to cover it up with choreography or fast action. In the final episode, it was so good that I felt the return of Netflix quality. It's a shame that if you compared the finale vs. the finale, Disney would be massacred, like Bullseye by Kingpin.
I'll complain about the rest of the stuff later, but for now I'll focus on the script. Season 4 begins shortly after the end of season 3. Karen, Matt, and Foggy are happily spending their time together until Bullseye suddenly appears and takes revenge on Daredevil's companions. Why on them and not on Kingpin? Don't ask, Disney ordered these actors to be cut because he has an idea for his own plots. But at least this solution has its consequences and is not thoughtless. In the meantime, Kingpin returns to New York. Not as a crime boss, but as a candidate for mayor. He wins the elections without any major difficulties and begins to implement his plan. He wants to do the same thing he did before, but with white gloves. After losing his friends, Matt abandons his alter-ego and devotes himself exclusively to work. He does so with great pain. Although he still wants to help innocent people, he also wants to avoid the pain of losing people close to him. For most of the season, there is a conflict within him.
When it comes to fights... I'll say this, I'd like to praise Disney, but unfortunately I can't. Especially since Disney can afford to buy actors and creators who can act and fight in a realistic way. Maybe they just didn't think about it? It's possible that when you have too big a budget, creators often miss the fact of simple and effective solutions. On the other hand, it doesn't speak well of them as creators. James Gunn knows how to combine real objects with digital special effects. True, there's still a lot of CGI, but the artificiality isn't as jarring, which is due to several reasons. 1. James Gunn starts by writing and refining the script, instead of creating a list of ideas that he will then improve on an ongoing basis during creation. Sure, every film has a script that is changed on an ongoing basis, it's a completely normal practice, but it's about scale. Modifying a dialogue scene, or changing a character or their position in a given place and time, is one thing, but making major changes is another. 2. As a result, the special effects specialists do not have to make constant corrections. 3. Such a detail that can be touched and felt (and not imagined that "something is there", as Ian McKellen did while filming several scenes for The Hobbit), not only makes the work of the actors easier, but also the viewers. The creators have a better perception of space, their movements look more natural due to having a certain point of reference. Viewers, on the other hand, focus more on such an object, which is why they do not pay so much attention to minor imperfections.
Okay, because it was supposed to be about fights. Despite sincere intentions and feeling emotions during some sequences, every fight from S1 and S3 looks better. I am not saying this from a fanboy perspective, because the final fight from S1 still does not appeal to me. It looks too artificial, I did not feel Kingpin's power. Nevertheless, it was one fight that can be forgotten. Especially since the earlier and later ones completely made up for it. Before writing the above words, I watched the Kingpin vs. Daredevil vs. Bullseye fight again, two fights between Matt and Kingpin's dog (in the church and the office) and 2 fights between Matt and ordinary gangsters. Starting with the Free For All type fight, despite the fact that many more objects are flying in the air and others are being destroyed all the time, everything is perfectly visible. At the same time, I don't feel the slightest bit of artificiality. Sure, if I watched all the frames with full concentration, as, for example, a committed executive producer who cares about the series looking PERFECT, I might notice a few scenes that could be edited a bit better. However, these are unimportant details that we don't pay attention to if the rest is good. The characters' emotions are authentic. I feel Bullseye's desperation, who wants to destroy everything he can. I feel Kingpin's fury and fear for the fate of his beloved with my whole being. This is not just anger, both characters want to literally fuck each other up and tear each other to pieces. And we have Matt, who is trying to save Vanessa, catch Kingpin, and Poindexter wants to fuck all three of them.
When it comes to the fight in the church or office, even though the action takes place at night (in a church - in a dark place) and agile warriors are fighting, everything is visible better and we do not have a feeling of uncontrolled chaos. Yes, such chaos adds realism, but this is not a street fight in a dark alley, but a movie. Out of politeness, I will ignore the fact that the creators of the Netflix version made their job harder for themselves by using various elements of the environment. I really want to praise Disney because I liked some of the ideas, but it's like comparing the test scores of a weak student who tried and a strong student who also prepared for it. There's too much that separates them, and good intentions alone aren't enough. The gangster fights are still the creme de la creme of this show. I don't know what Kevin Feige was thinking when they finally finished filming a fight scene, but I'll say this - the best Disney fights are a tiny bit (yes, tiny bit) higher than the worst Netflix fights. It's all recorded in one shot, or it looks that way. The actors don't slow down their fists just before the impact, they balance their bodies appropriately. Sometimes you can see it, even more often than sometimes, but it's incomparably better than adding fake blood after the punch scene.
As for the actors, Vincent D'Onofrio is always a perfect choice for Kingpin. Just like the actors from the live-action version of One Piece with their originals. I'm talking about both his physiognomy of a gigantic but muscular fat man and his difficult character. I would like to say that it's good, but I can't. I mean, yes, the actor gives it his all and is one of the few cases in Disney's DD who wants to act 100%. However, I miss a few elements. The scenes from the everyday life of the King of the NYC underground have been minimized. The relationship between Vanessa and Kingpin is only a substitute for their unusual relationship. Kingpin is afraid of losing his beloved. Vanessa plays with the beast, and at the same time she is extremely excited by the fact that her man is a monster. However, I missed that subtle sense of uncertainty from season 1 or her self-confidence from S3.
Here, the creators did their best, but there we only got a few short scenes with her. Her look or a small gesture had a big meaning. The actress does her best, but it is hard to overcome the script's shortcomings. It's a shame, because she is an extremely talented actress (which is visible in the penultimate episode... How mad I am at Disney for ruining their roles! The scene where she saves Fisk and Matt from an inevitable confrontation was great! That's what I was fucking talking about!!!), who doesn't have to say most things. She says it with her facial expressions alone, sometimes supported by gestures, a single sentence, or a subtle movement. I think Vanessa's potential was wasted a bit, but there are elements that deserved my criticism more. So as not to end this paragraph too sadly, Cezary Żak in the Polish language version is fucking gold! I don't know if it's an undiscovered talent for dubbing, or a combination of talent and a similar physiognomy, but he came out great. I remembered his role in the series Tajemnica Twierdzy Szyfrów.
Unfortunately, it was as I feared - Vincent lied when he said that Disney's DD would be more brutal in some respects. Or rather... The series had potential in this regard, but I didn't feel like it was a series with a hard +18 age rating at all, but for example +16. Apart from the fact that Kingpin crushed the head of one of the characters. That was the only time my partner and I were shocked. Apart from that, it's a slightly more brutal Goosebumps. You probably remember this series from your childhood or teenage years. It's the same with Daredevil's opponent. He's a worse version of Bullseye in almost every respect. Apart from the idea for the costume (really good and atmospheric), he's a light version of a psycho. In the case of the villain from S3, we saw that he was a man with deep mental problems. Something like Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel. Like the hellish star of adult films, Poindexter was a walking bomb and we saw it almost all the time (apart from the moments when the psychologist lady was in his life). Sure, Muza got less time to develop his character, but it was enough to properly execute at least one scene. Sure, his conversation with one character came out really well, but it was too staged. There was no element of uncertainty about the next move.
I don't know how to evaluate the protagonist. On the one hand, Matt Murdock shows more different emotions, but on the other hand, some of them are not very authentic. Although, as I thought about it for a few minutes, most of my complaints are not major flaws. Especially since in this case the creators really took care of the details. True, these are not things that require the knowledge of NASA scientists, but only elementary thinking and putting yourself in the shoes of a given hero, but on the other hand, many people overlook this. I mean various scenes showing that the blind man actually lives alone in the house. He doesn't turn on the lights because he doesn't have to, he doesn't do things like a normal person because he doesn't have to. To be completely happy in this matter, the only thing missing for me was the mess that was in his apartment in the Netflix version. What I can't turn a blind eye to is the fact that Matt kills some people. If this were a regular Marvel series, I would have waved it off. Even if it were Batman, I would have ignored it. Despite his principles, he often hits his opponents hard and I don't believe that anyone would be healthy after so many blows. The problem is that Matt is a religious Catholic, for whom one of his priorities is his faith and morality. While throwing Poindexter off the roof was understandable (out of politeness, I'm omitting the fact that this scene didn't resonate emotionally at all), murdering the other bandits is an exaggeration. You can't convince me that falling ON YOUR HEAD from a height of SEVERAL stories won't end in death, can you? How on earth can Muza not handle one victim, and then for a brief moment, handle Daredevil quite well? These things come out during script revision, and this isn't Dragon Ball Z or Super (or any other long battle-shounen), where episodes are written on the fly and there's no physical way to coordinate everything.
In general, I would say that it is a case like DB Daim in relation to Dragon Ball Z, but less broken. Less, because DBD is a disaster in every respect, and DD is "only unfinished". I do not like the feeling of artificiality, but it is a part of many series, games or films. This results, for example, from numerous corrections to the script / idea - we get its improved version, but not everything is uniform. Unless we are talking about a product like Breaking Bad, where they improved EVERYTHING until EVERYONE was satisfied. Daredevil is the apple of Kevin Feigi's eye, who created the MCU, and he cannot revise the script or hire someone trustworthy to do it for him? He has praised Netflix productions several times for their different approach to creating content. In the same interviews, he mentioned that he dreams of such a +18 segment in the MCU. When he finally regained control of Marvel (I'm referring to when Iger appointed Chapek as his successor, which was a mistake on his part), he immediately took on Daredevil, which was almost finished. He ordered to throw out what was completely bad (supposedly most of the material), fix what could be saved, and shoot the rest from scratch.
The earlier version must have been really poor if the series, which has no secondary characters, and even the primary ones do not use their potential properly (which was standard in S1 and S3, I still have not seen the middle season in its entirety - fortunately in S3 they abandoned the development of a larger universe and focused on what DD fans like). What do we know about BB apart from the fact that she is the niece of a famous journalist? What is her place in this world apart from the single piece of information that we learned in the penultimate episode? Why do none of the characters have their own beginning, middle and end, we only get figurine characters? This works when we know them or they are characters whose design or outfit contains information (e.g. Punisher or Captain America - we do not have to be Einstein to understand their roles). Not when we are just getting to know them. Besides, even this could be bypassed if someone who knows how to write them and knows the source material sat down to this script. Before Thanos was defeated, the MCU creators were able to explain certain complex issues with ONE line of dialogue. Sorry, but this isn't a PG-13, PG-16 show where the writer, producer and director have to figure out how to present certain things in an appropriate form. They can just show it - a fucked up head or other body part. A series of filthy insults that would embarrass a drunk football fan. Nothing limits them!
How do I rate this season of DD? 5.5/10, maybe a stretched 6/10. I expected something better from Kevin, but I was also expecting something worse. Especially after episode 1. Ultimately, it wasn't that bad and if they learn from the criticism, maybe it will be better. For now, I think the series fills the time well, but it is noticeably worse than the competition. My partner honestly hates Marvel except for DD. She is not as enchanted by this series as I am, but I can see that she sees it as one of the best we have seen together. She was bored watching season 4 and when we talked after the final episode, she said she was disappointed with it. At first, I wanted to rate this series more favorably, but the critical opinions of Asia and my friend (greetings Sharik) convinced me to partially change my opinion. If this was season 4 of DD, the fans would have spat on it like Defenders. But it was made by Marvel, who, when it comes to series, have not created anything good. Do you think otherwise? Cool, I also like mindless entertainment with DB, but the fact that sometimes Toriyama manages to come up with a cool idea (or even a whole series of them) doesn't make DB a "smart" battle shounen like OP or HxH. It's still a simple story that gives fun, but confrontation with really great series clearly shows its weaknesses.

Czy to najlepszy serial w historii MCU? Nie widziałem wszystkich, więc nie wiem, ale wnioskując po opiniach znajomych i blogerów, jest albo najlepszy albo jednym z najlepszych. Czy to znaczy, że jest dobry? Na tle dotychczasowych seriali MCU być może. W przypadku Netflixa, jest gorsza pod KAŻDYM względem. W recenzji pojawi się kilka małych spoilerów, ale będę unikał najważniejszych.
Co mi się nie podoba w Born Again? Niemal wszystko. Zacznę od typowego dla korporacji, bezpiecznego tworzenia filmów. Niektóre sceny nie wyglądają, jakby stworzyło je studio dysponujące dużymi zasobami finansowymi. Mam wręcz wrażenie jakby robili to początkujący pracownicy, którzy jeszcze nie są obyci z kamerą. Inne z kolei trącą sztucznością, jak np. Daredevil podczas niektórych walk lub gdy nasz protagonista skacze po dachach budynków... Tego drugiego nie jestem w stanie obronić, bo w każdym odcinku wygląda strasznie tanio. Tak jakby był to tani remake starej gry. Niektóre sceny robią wrażenie, zwłaszcza w 2 połowie serialu, która jest wg mnie lepsza, ale to ciągle korporacyjny produkt. Born Again próbuje udawać, że ma duszę. Nawet jak na krótką chwilę dam się złapać na ten urok, to po kilku minutach zauroczenie mija.
Widzę sztuczność scen akcji. Widzę brak kreatywności i "pazura" twórcy - mam wrażenie, jakby zrobili go księgowi, a nie prawdziwi specjaliści od filmów. Widzę te same, schematyczne cięcia przeprowadzone w taki sam sposób. O ile w filmach mi to nie przeszkadza, o tyle w serialach (zwłaszcza takich, które powstają dla streamingu, więc nie mają ograniczeń w kwestii długości odcinka) już tak. Zwłaszcza, gdy widzę je tak często. Podobnie mam w przypadku niektórych dialogów, czy scenach prezentujących postacie - to wszystko jest zbyt sterylne i sztuczne. Nie mówię, że każda scena taka jest, bo bym skłamał. Niestety stanowią one większość. W przypadku pokazywania walk, z każdym odcinkiem idzie im to coraz lepiej, ale ciągle są daleko za oryginalnymi twórcami. Nadal widzę sceny, w których są cięcia, ale przynajmniej starają się to zakryć choreografią lub szybką akcją. W finałowym odcinku było tak dobrze, że poczułem powrót jakości Netflixa. Szkoda, że gdyby porównać finał vs. finał, to Disney zostałby zmasakrowany, jak Bullseye przez Kingpina.
Na resztę rzeczy ponarzekam później, a póki co zajmę się scenariuszem. 4 sezon zaczyna się niedługo po zakończeniu trzeciego. Karen, Matt i Foggy radośnie spędzają czas, aż nagle pojawia się Bullseye, który mści się na towarzyszach Daredevila. Czemu na nich, a nie na Kingpinie? Nie pytajcie, Disney kazał wyciąć tych aktorów, bo ma pomysł na własne wątki. No ale przynajmniej to rozwiązanie ma swoje konsekwencje i nie jest nieprzemyślane. Międzyczasie Kingpin wraca do Nowego Yorku. Nie jako boss przestępczego świata, ale jako kandydat na burmistrza. Wygrywa wybory bez większych trudności i zaczyna realizować swój plan. Chce robić to samo, co wcześniej, ale w białych rękawiczkach. Po utracie przyjaciół, Matt porzuca swoje alter-ego i poświęca się wyłącznie pracy. Czyni to z wielkim bólem. Choć nadal chce pomagać niewinnym ludziom, to chce też uniknąć bólu wynikającego ze straty bliskich mu osób. Przez większość sezonu w jego wnętrzu trwa konflikt.
Jeśli chodzi o walki... Powiem tak, chciałbym pochwalić Disneya, ale niestety nie jestem w stanie. Tym bardziej, że stać Disneya na kupienie aktorów i twórców, którzy umieją grać i bić się w realistyczny sposób. Może po prostu nie pomyśleli o tym? Możliwe, jak się ma zbyt duży budżet, to twórcom często umyka fakt prostych i skutecznych rozwiązań. Z drugiej strony, nie świadczy to zbyt dobrze o nich jako twórcach. James Gunn potrafi połączyć prawdziwe przedmioty z cyfrowymi efektami specjalnymi. Fakt, nadal jest tam dużo CGI, ale sztuczność nie wali tak bardzo po oczach, co wynika z kilku przyczyn. 1. James Gunn zaczyna od napisania i dopracowania scenariusza, zamiast tworzyć spis pomysłów, które będzie potem poprawiał na bieżąco w trakcie tworzenia. Jasne, każdy film ma scenariusz zmieniany na bieżąco, to totalnie normalna praktyka, ale chodzi o skalę. Zmodyfikowanie sceny dialogowej, czy zmiana postaci lub jej położenia w danym miejscu i czasie, to jedno, czym innym jest wprowadzanie większych zmian. 2. Co za tym idzie, specjaliści od efektów specjalnych nie muszą wprowadzać cały czas poprawek. 3. Taki detal, który można dotknąć i poczuć (a nie wyobrażać sobie, że "coś tam jest", jak to robił Ian McKellen podczas kręcenia kilku scen do Hobbita), nie tylko ułatwia pracę aktorom, ale też widzom. Twórcy mają lepsze postrzeganie przestrzeni, ich ruchy wyglądają naturalniej przez posiadanie pewnego punktu odniesienia. Widzowie z kolei bardziej skupiają się na takim obiekcie, przez co nie zwracają tak bardzo uwagi na drobne niedoskonałości.
Dobra, bo miało być o walkach. Mimo szczerych chęci i odczuwania emocji przy niektórych sekwencjach, każdy pojedynek z S1 i S3 wygląda lepiej. Nie mówię tego z perspektywy fanboya, bo finałowe starcie z S1 nadal do mnie nie przemawia. Wygląda zbyt sztucznie, nie czułem mocy Kingpina. Niemniej to było jedno starcie, o którym można zapomnieć. Tym bardziej, że wcześniejsze i późniejsze w zupełności nam to wynagrodziły. Zanim napisałem powyższe słowa, obejrzałem jeszcze raz walkę Kingpin vs. Daredevil vs. Bullseye, dwa pojedynki między Mattem, a psem Kingpina (w kościele i biurze) oraz 2 walki Matta ze zwykłymi gangsterami. Zaczynając od walki typu Free For All, mimo że w powietrzu lata dużo więcej przedmiotów, a inne są cały czas niszczone, wszystko jest doskonale widoczne. Jednocześnie nie odczuwam ani trochę sztuczności. Jasne, gdybym oglądał wszystkie kadry w pełnym skupieniu, jako np. zaangażowany producent wykonawczy, któremu zależy na tym, by serial wyglądał PERFEKCYJNIE, być może dopatrzyłbym się kilku scen, które można zmontować nieco lepiej. To są jednak nieistotne detale, na które nie zwracamy uwagi, o ile reszta jest dobra. Emocje postaci są autentyczne. Czuję desperację Bullseye'a, który chce zniszczyć wszystko co się da. Całym sobą czuję furię Kingpina i strach o los jego ukochanej. To nie jest zwykły gniew, obie postacie chcą siebie dosłownie zapierdolić i rozszarpać na kawałki. No i mamy Matta, który próbuje uratować Vanessę, schwytać Kingpina, a Poindexter chce zajebać całą trójkę.
Jeśli chodzi o walkę w Kościele, czy biurze, mimo że akcja dzieje się w nocy (w kościele - w zaciemnionym miejscu) i pojedynkują się zwinni wojownicy, to wszystko widać lepiej i nie mamy uczucia niekontrolowanego chaosu. Tak, taki chaos nadaje realizmu, ale to nie jest uliczna bójka w ciemnej alejce, tylko film. Z grzeczności pomijam fakt, że twórcy Netflixowej wersji sami sobie utrudnili robotę, wykorzystując różne elementy otoczenia. Serio chciałbym pochwalić Disneya, bo niektóre pomysły mi się spodobały, ale to tak, jakbym porównywał wyniki sprawdzianów słabego ucznia, który postarał się i mocnego, który dodatkowo przygotował się do niego. Zbyt wiele ich dzieli, a same dobre chęci to za mało. Walki z gangsterami to nadal creme de la creme tego serialu. Nie wiem, co Kevin Feige myślał, gdy w końcu skończyli kręcić jakąś scenę walki, ale ja powiem tak - najlepsze walki Disneya są odrobinkę (tak tyci tyci) wyżej niż najmniej udane pojedynki Netflixa. Wszystko jest nagrane jednym ujęciem kamery lub tak to wygląda. Aktorzy nie wyhamowują pięści tuż zderzeniem, tylko odpowiednio balansują swoim ciałem. Czasem to widać, nawet częściej niż czasem, ale jest to nieporównywalnie lepsze od dodawania sztucznej krwi po scenie uderzenia.
Jeśli chodzi o aktorów, to Vincent D'Onofrio niezmiennie jest perfekcyjnym wyborem na Kingpina. Tak jak aktorzy z aktorskiej wersji One Piece względem swoich pierwowzorów. Mówię tu zarówno o jego fizjonomii gigantycznego, ale umięśnionego grubasa, jak i trudnym charakterze. Chciałbym powiedzieć, że jest dobrze, ale nie jestem w stanie. To znaczy tak, aktor daje z siebie wszystko i jest jednym z nielicznych przypadków w Disneyowskim DD, któremu chce się działać na 100%. Brakuje mi jednak kilku elementów. Zminimalizowano sceny z codziennego życia Króla podziemia NYC. Relacja między Vanessą, a Kingpinem, to jedynie namiastka ich nietypowej relacji. Kingpin boi się stracić ukochaną. Vanessa igra z bestią, a jednocześnie cholernie podnieca ją fakt, że jej mężczyzną jest potwór. Zabrakło mi jednak tego subtelnego poczucia niepewności z 1 sezonu lub jej pewności siebie z S3.
Tutaj co prawda twórcy robili co mogli, ale tam dostaliśmy jedynie kilka krótkich scen z jej udziałem. Samo jej spojrzenie lub drobny gest miały duże znaczenie. Aktorka co prawda robi co może, ale trudno jest przeskoczyć braki w scenariuszu. Szkoda, bo to niezwykle utalentowana aktorka (co widać w przedostatnim odcinku... Jaki ja jestem zły na Disneya, że popsuł ich role! Scena jak ratuje Fiska i Matta przed nieuchronną konfrontacją, wyszła świetnie! Właśnie o tym kurwa mówiłem!!!), która nie musi mówić większości rzeczy. Mówi to samą mimiką, czasem wspierając się gestami, jednym zdaniem, czy subtelnym ruchem. Uważam że odrobinę zmarnowano potencjał Vanessy, ale są elementy, które bardziej zasłużyły na moją krytykę. Żeby nie kończyć zbyt smutno tego akapitu, Cezary Żak w polskiej wersji językowej, to pierdolone złoto! Fakt, nie są to rzeczy wymagające wiedzy naukowców Nasa, a jedynie elementarnego myślenia i postawieniu się na miejscu danego bohatera, ale z drugiej strony, wielu ludzi to pomija. No chyba nie wmówicie mi, że upadek NA GŁOWĘ z wysokości KILKU pięter nie skończy się śmiercią? Jakim cudem Muza nie może sobie poradzić z jedną ofiarą, a potem przez krótką chwilę, radzi sobie całkiem nieźle z Daredevilem? Takie rzeczy wychodzą podczas weryfikacji scenariusza, a to nie jest Dragon Ball Z, czy Super (lub dowolnie inny, długi battle-shounen), gdzie odcinki powstają na bieżąco i nie ma fizycznej możliwości, by wszystko skoordynować.
Generalnie powiedziałbym, że to taki przypadek jak DB Daima względem Dragon Ball Z, ale mniej zepsuty. Mniej, bo DBD to mimo wszystko katastrofa na każdym polu, a DD jest "tylko niedopracowany". Nie lubię uczucia sztuczności, ale jest częścią wielu seriali, gier czy filmów. Kilkukrotnie chwalił Netflixowe produkcje za odmienne podejście do tworzenia contentu. W tych samych wywiadach wspominał, że marzy o takim segmencie +18 w MCU. Dlaczego żadna z postaci nie ma swojego początku, środka i końca, tylko dostajemy postacie-figurki? To działa w sytuacji, gdy je znamy lub są to postacie, których design lub strój zawiera informację (np. Punisher albo Kapitan Ameryka - nie musimy być Einsteinem, by zrozumieć ich role). Jak oceniam ten sezon DD? 5.5/10, może naciagane 6/10. Spodziewałem się czegoś lepszego po Kevinie, ale też nastawiałem się na coś gorszego. Zwłaszcza po 1 odcinku. Ostatecznie nie wyszło tak źle i jeśli wyciągną wnioski z krytyki, to może będzie lepiej. Póki co uważam, że serial nieźle wypełnia czas, ale jest zauważalnie gorszy od konkurencji. Moja partnerka szczerze nie cierpi Marvela za wyjątkiem DD. Nie jest zauroczona tym serialem jak ja, ale widzę że postrzega go jako jeden z najlepszych, jakie wspólnie widzieliśmy. To ciągle prosta historyjka, która daje fun, ale konfrontacja z naprawdę świetnymi serialami dobitnie uwidacznia jej słabości.
