Firts, This is not a review is more like a story about why this show meant something to me, making a review of this show is something weird, just go and watch it, no kidding.

Ante todo, Esto no es una reseña, más bien una historia de por qué esta serie significó tanto para mi, hacer una reseña de esta serie es algo fútil, solo vayan y véanla, no es broma.

There are quite a bunch of reviews out there of these series, How I Met Your Mother have become one of the biggest sitcoms for decades, the jokes, the gags, the ideas it proposed, their theories and laws that permeated into the culture and stick with us until today, those are all part of its legacy. But sometimes, legacies are more than that.

Hay un buen puñado de reseñas por ahí de esta serie, Cómo conocí a tu madre se ha convertido en una de las mayores series de comedia de la tv en décadas, los chistes, las ideas que proponía, sus teorías y leyes que se metieron en la cultura y se quedan con nosotros hasta hoy, todo eso es parte de su legado. Pero a veces, los legados son más que eso.

Today I will express myself on something I simply won't talk about in another post, very personal and hard to live by, I'm going to talk about love, failure of a relationship, and how a silly coming of age sitcom became one of the ropes that tied me to healthy mental sanity.

Hoy me expresaré sobre algo que simplemente no hablaré en otro post, algo muy personal y difícil de vivir, voy a hablar del amor, el fracaso de una relación y de cómo una tonta sitcom de temáticas para personas que cruzan la mayoria de edad se convirtió en una de las cuerdas que me ataron a una mentalidad sana.

Este es el legado de Comó Conocí a Tu Madre desde mi perspectiva.

You see, today I'm currently expecting a daughter with my own, the whole TM gag but willout the yellow umbrella, she and I almost knew each other about docents of times in the last half-decade, and what makes it funny is that she is the love of my life, and I choose her every day as my soon to be bride, I can see myself in my old years just sitting on the front porch with her, event playing card games, no I do not get how bridge works, not kidding.

Actualmente estoy esperando una hija, lo mas curioso es que cumple todo el lo ocurrido en la serie respecto a TM pero sin el paraguas amarillo, ella y yo casi nos conocimos unas docenas de veces en la última media década, y lo que lo hace gracioso es que ella es el amor de mi vida, y la elijo cada día como mi pronta esposa, me veo en mis años de vejes simplemente sentado en el porche de la casa con ella, jugando a las cartas, no entiendo cómo funciona el juego de bridge, no es broma.

I loved this Simbolism to just love as it is, the long sad love vs the lifetime love, what a great simbol, found it here and it felt like i found gold. | Me encantó este [Simbolismo] sobre amar tal cual es, el largo y triste amor vs el amor de por vida, que grandioso simbolo encontré, sentí que encontré oro.

But I was kinda... married, long before her, about the same time we almost met, you see before my fiancee, I lived with another girlfriend for about two years, and we were together for about that half-decade.

The funny thing was that I only got to know HIMYM sitcom when I broke up with her, and just when I saw it, it felt so deeply connected to Ted's curse of hunting for his soul mate that was just so close, yet so far. Especially when I got to know my fiancee, and we got pregnant against all odds, it felt like my life was going too fast, and I wasn't ready for it, but I loved every second on this new train and our destiny.

Lo curioso es que sólo conocí la comedia HIMYM cuando nos separamos, y justo cuando la vi, me sentí tan profundamente conectado con la maldición de Ted de buscar a su alma gemela que estaba tan cerca, pero tan lejos. Especialmente cuando llegué a conocer a mi prometida, y nos quedamos embarazados contra todo pronóstico, sentí que mi vida iba demasiado rápido, y no estaba preparado para ello, pero amé cada segundo del inicio en este nuevo tren y nuestro destino.

When they split up happened, I was heartbroken, I ended up doing some stupid things, breaking up friendships, cutting my ties with her, hurting myself was my recurrent thinking, but when I went to bed, this show was on Fox, I found something funny to do this night I used to think, and I was able to laugh at their endless slaps, the rope was coming down from the top to the pit, and I din't event saw it at that time.

But eventually, I ended up getting my nights of sleep from a PBS show where a painter with the low voice and a permed afro helped me sleep, and how I met your mother helped me to have hope for love, and it show me that I should get up and see my friends, and one day, I just got up, and I did.

I ended up seeing new friends, it was the best time of my life, I felt alive, and now more than ever I realized how the gang of the series relied on each other and got by hard times just with love, friendship, and mutual support.

That was the hardest trick these series pull on me, Ted eternal soul search for love representing happiness, kept me going when I was in a deep depression after the breakup, it was Ted's hunt and eternal optimism about love that made me think I could get a new shot at love.

It was Barney's extreme womanizer pattern that refrained from doing so, and the ideal of Marshall being just ONE step away, just so incredibly close that you could feel it. It is possible to be happily married, is not easy, is not free, it takes time and work, is hardest than anything else in life, but it's worth it, and Marshall was fictional evidence of that, yes it was a fictional comedy show, but when you are in a dark pit, and you look up and see light, you see hope.

The funny thing is that I'm currently a happy man, I got therapy for months, get over the breakup, Barney freeway theory about relationships got proved to me and left that past behind me.

Even to this day, the gang teaches me new things, sometimes a gag pops out of my memories and I relate to that character and see how the writers and the cast managed to connect to me even months after initially seeing that episode.

I finally understood why Ted was just sitting by his wife's side reading a book trying to just be with her, make her feel his love, and stay by her side when she needed him the most. The act of giving love mixed with a deep fear that you can sense but just thank god that the other person is still alive and is part of your life, is so deeply real.

Un ejemplo de ello ocurrió cuando mi prometida tuvo una hemorragia meses atrás y casi pierde a nuestra hija. Por fin entendí por qué Ted estaba sentado al lado de su esposa leyendo un libro, intentando simplemente estar con ella, hacerle sentir su amor y quedarse a su lado cuando más lo necesitaba. El acto de dar amor mezclado con un profundo miedo que puedes sentir pero te das cuenta de que agradeces a Dios que la otra persona siga viva y sea parte de tu vida, es tan profundamente real.

So I ended up getting new teachings of this series even to this day, it's legacy to me has become deeply rooted in my heart, the gang is still airing on my memories, and while have being a long time I see it on the tv, and I can only watch it on amazon prime now, its something that helped me in my darkest hour.

I now realize how much Ted grows If you compare to anyone in current ages, about half of the population had a long term relationship break up, and even more, have divorced, while Ted grows to beat his shortcomings and reach the Happy ending gets is special meaning because of it.

And now I got to work to get my happy ending as well. I hope to be Marshall, and never lose my love and work on it daily, but who knows what the future departs for us, for now, I just wanna see my little girl face when she is born and love it just as much as Barney did to his own, to love like Ted did to every woman in his life and achieve a long-lasting love just as Marshall did.

Y ahora tengo que trabajar para conseguir mi final feliz también. Espero ser Marshall, y no perder nunca a mi amor y no olvidar trabajar en ello diariamente, pero quien sabe lo que nos depara el futuro, por ahora, solo quiero ver la cara de mi niña cuando nazca y amarla tanto como Barney lo hizo con la suya, amar como Ted lo hizo con cada mujer en su vida y lograr un amor duradero como lo hizo Marshall.

Those guys were legends to me, and as a man, I can relate to them with ease, so I deeply thank the show and everybody involved in it, for it.
