Hey there! Hope your day’s going great. I just finished watching Train to Busan (2016), and wow I’m still catching my breath. If you’re into fast-paced action, emotional punches, and a zombie twist that doesn’t feel overdone, this one’s a ride you need to take. Literally.
THE PLOT
The movie kicks off with Seok-woo, a workaholic dad who decides to take his young daughter, Su-an, to see her mom in Busan as a sort of peace offering. They hop on a train, but before the journey really gets going, all hell breaks loose a zombie outbreak spreads across South Korea like wildfire.
And guess what? One infected person sneaks onto their train.
Now what started as a simple trip becomes a desperate fight for survival. Seok-woo and a handful of other passengers including a tough, selfless guy named Sang-hwa, a pregnant woman, a high school baseball team, and a few others have to stick together, dodge the undead, and somehow make it to safety.
What really hits hard is how the characters evolve. Seok-woo, who at first only cares about himself and his job, is forced to rethink everything. The deeper they go into the chaos, the more the movie shows us just how far people will go either to help others or to save themselves.
MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW
I’d give this a solid 9/10. Train to Busan isn’t just a zombie flick it’s an emotional rollercoaster that makes you care deeply about the people on that train. The action is gripping, the suspense is real, and yes, I cried (more than once).
The acting? Spot-on. The father-daughter bond? Heartbreaking. The social commentary on selfishness vs. sacrifice? Subtle but powerful. And the zombies? Fast, freaky, and relentless.
If you’re tired of the same old jump-scare horror and want something with heart and real tension, Train to Busan delivers. Get ready to cheer, cry, and maybe scream a little. Let me know if you survive the ride!
