Rajma Chawal - a movie on Netflix
Language - Hindi
Country - India
Okay, I won't go into the technical details of the movie. I wanted to share my opinions after watching this movie and thought that I would post it on CineTV.
Of late, I have been so caught up with splinterlands that I have ignored other aspects of Hive. It is time that I started to blog on other topics too.
The trailer
The plot
Back to the movie, it is a story about a father and son who are both grieving at the loss of the mother and due to misunderstandings between them, fail to communicate and grow apart.
The dad sells his house and forces his son to move back to their old house in the not-so 'posh' part of Delhi where the crowded streets are filthy but the people are very warm-hearted and genuine. The neighbours are very helpful and convince the dad to start a facebook account in the guise of a random girl and befriend his own son who falls for it. He does move out of the house and forms a music band.
However, things get complicated when the real girl turns up and the dad convinces her somehow to bring his son back. She on the other hand is also having a rough life but succeeds in bringing the two of them together. The dad suggests she move out of his son's life but his son loves her. Even though there are some misunderstandings, the three are united and the girl also reconciles with her parents who had disowned her.
I have written the plot because it is difficult to understand a story when the language is foreign to you and the subtitles may not do justice and also because this movie is available only on netflix.
The highlight of the movie is the Dad character which is played by the late Rishi Kapoor. The songs are simply delightful and the last sign-off song by the boy and his band which is sung by the famous Arijit Singh is simply too good and catchy and reflects the love of the people for Chandni Chowk.
Emotions
The message that is given in this movie is that people, especially family members tend to misunderstand one another way too easily, and instead of talking things out and finding simple solutions, they tend to complicate it because of their large egos and complexes.
It is easier to reach out and be the first one to bend rather than keep the grudges and hold the anger within oneself and let society know about it too. A lot of marriages could be saved if people just let go of their ego and welcomed the other person with even a smile.
The song from this movie
I hope you enjoy watching this movie and listening to the songs. Even though it is in Hindi, the songs are very catchy.
