We have made many fights during the history of mankind and the humanity. And each battle, some people deserve to win! But we are the best at several levels in the schools, and in some courses at the highest level in education. But how did it start with flags, what does a flag symbolize, and why are we having flags around the planet for different countries? Should we mark community and unity, and how are we staying together in any nation, and what are the strategies for getting competitive advantages of nations?
Flags as recognized today, made of a piece of cloth representing a particular entity, were invented in the Indian subcontinent or Chinese Zhou dynasty (1046-256 BCE). So, we should check the history of any flag too know what is special and distinct for any flag in the world. And the most known flag in the world today, is the flag for the United States. The stripes represent the original 13 Colonies and the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well; red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice. But the nation I am coming from is Norway, and what does really that flag symbolize? There are no special meanings associated with the colors used in the flag of Norway. The cross symbolizes Christianity and its blue color symbolizes the association with Sweden and a white outline added while red is for Denmark. The tricolors denote Norway's independence. And the history learns us that there was a guy making the blue color in the middle of the Danish flag, and this became Norway’s flag!
But why are we using these flags? And why is every flag unique and different from the other flags? Flags are national symbols. Every country has got a specific flag as their national symbol. The first flags were flown in the 18th century to tell others that we own a piece of land ('proclaim a possession') and that we rule over the people and land ('proclaim sovereignty').
The flag is marking a community and unity where we are staying together as a nation, and we do not have to copy any individual with doing the same things as other people, and the education we have taken at any length in schools is given our meaning and philosophy in the ways we are doing and organizing our lives, and we should always use the education and the research background that we have, and at the same time we should develop ourselves through the whole life, and everything that is stupid organized in a society can we react on. And academics do have a different and another type of education than artisans, and there are much more theories, methods and data in long education legnth in the schools at the upper levels in societies, and many artisans are just doing practical works, and do not reflect in what work is, and why we have the organization of different works as we have in organizations.
Why do some countries fall apart, often along their ethnic fault lines, while others have held together over decades and centuries, despite governing a diverse population as well? Why is it, in other words, that nation-building succeeded in some places while it failed in others? And we should always love the human nature in the nature, and we should love every person that we mean, and the life can be with competence or without any long education, and we should accept people’s choices, and we should try to eliminate or reduce potentital conflicts and real conflicts, and we are here as humans to build societies, and for marking that we are giving our strong sides the best solutions together with all other people. And all people are not strong in all possible areas for the humanity, but we should structure and solve problems for the different countries in such manners that people live their lives with satisfaction, and that nothing is being destroyed in the life.
A nation's competitiveness depends on the capacity of its industry to innovate and upgrade. Companies gain advantage against the world's best competitors because of pressure and challenge. They benefit from having strong domestic rivals, aggressive home-based suppliers, and demanding local customers. And the flags should symbolize the meanings and the points of the nation in question, and we should use English as our working language ever, and every nation has a history, a culture, and a distinct way of being when being alone and together with other nations. And competitive strategies are much due to prices and quality of the products, and sometimes we must combine these two things. And life is a competition from the very start to the very end, also in the schools at all levels, and we cannot ignore education at any length and at any kinds, because education are forming our bodies and our minds with insights.
