At its best, God is a difficult concept to understand and so much more for little children.
I was just brought up with God. My parents, from a very young age told me there was a God that is ever present and know what we do. Also that God created everything. They were church going and they lived by biblical principles. They read to us children from the Bible.
So where do you start?
Start at the beginning of course 😊
A children's bible can be a great resource to help with this.
God is the Creator of everything.
Start with the story of creation. How God created everything. Tell your kid God created him and you.
To strengthen this information do the following:
- Look together at photos and tell him God made him and you.
- At bathing time point to his toes and his fingers and said God made them.
- Look at nature together, a flower, a butterfly and told him God made that.
- Going to the Zoo identify different animals and say God made them.
God is our provider.
- Because God made everything on Earth all the plants that we eat and also all the animals that we eat God is the provider of food for us.
- If God didn't make our food then we would have starved here on Earth.
- If God do not send rain the plants will not grow and we will also not have food to eat.
- We buy our food with the money that we earn when we work but God also give us health. If we are not healthy we cannot work, we cannot earn money and we won't be able to buy the food that God provided for us.
- Always pray and say thank you for the food so your child will know that God is the source of your food.
- Start a small vegetable garden so your kids can see how vegetables grew and then harvested and prepared to eat.
