My Dad loves listening to humorous poetry i.e hasya kavita. He has some of the Indian poets in his bucket list whom he admire. For him listening to such poetry is joyful and he feel relax. कान्पृच्छामः सुधा स्वर्गे निवसामो वयं भुवि |
किं वा काव्यरसः स्वादुः किं वा स्वादीयसी सुधा ||
Kaanprucchaamah sudhaa svarge nivaaamo vayam bhuvi .
Kim vaa kaavyarasah svaaduh kim vaa svaadeeyasee sudhaa.
Kaanprucchaamah = Kaam + prucchaamah.
Kaam = from whom.
Prucchaamah = enquire.
Sudhaa = beverage of Gods, also called 'Amruta'.
Svarge = the Heaven , abode of Gods.
Nivasaamo = dwelling.
Vayam = we.
Bhuvi = the Earth.
Kim = what, then.
Vaa = is
Kaavyrasah = flavour or sweetness of poetry.
Svaadu = tasty, delicious.
Svaadeeyasee = more savoury than, sweeter.
i.e. From whom should I enquire whether the taste of 'Sudha', the beverage of Gods is more sweeter than the joy of listening to good poetry, because we live on this Earth and 'Sudhaa is available only in the Heaven.
