Last week I talked about time management being the basis of forming a first impression. The second most vital lesson related to the first is good planning. Before you ever lay your hands to make something, you must have spent twice the time planning that action.
At first this can be annoying especially if you come from a fast paced environment where planners are labelled 'slow people.' Time spent planning could help you avoid hours wasted troubleshooting or rebuilding.
Planning can get on your nerves especially if you're a millennial like me. In the first #PM course I took last year I realized that good planning beats fast #execution in many cases.
At the end of the project, those who thought out their #idea before building beat the teams who built and thought about it later.
A website can be built overnight. But not in #Germany. Every detail must be considered and this can take a long time. Being spontaneous is frowned on.
What do you prefer good planning or fast execution? I think it depends. Some things require fast execution and if we plan too long we might be all dead or out of #business.
There is a place for the two. Good planning also helps you avoid emergencies in the future. Should we adopt the German planning or not?
