Hello teachers, students, and researchers, I am here again today, Sunday, 5th April, 2020, to share a guide on how to measure Tutors' acquaintance with Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) Skills through research.
he social and educational climate around the globe is placing a huge demand for many tutors, who need to become lifelong learners themselves in order to facilitate the learning of others.
The achievement of this is facilitated by rigorous learning which has transcended from its conventional to sophisticated methods especially with the advent of information and communication technology (ICT). ICTs are very useful and needful in the education sector where information is a vital commodity. This requires that educators be ICT compliant in order to flow in pace with the current developments.
In this information age, an uninformed or imprecise educator is as good as dead. That is, to be able to capture, store, retrieve and use information speedily and appropriately for effectiveness and efficiency, every educator must be well versed with the necessary skills.
Yet, it is no gainsaying that even where the ICT facilities are made available, some tutors lack the needed skills to use the facilities in their work.
The acquisition of skills in learning is linked to many factors some of which may be personal, social, psychological and cultural. However, within the academic community, the personal and social factors tend to outweigh others since they define class and status.
It is against this background that this study seeks to investigate how ICT skills of tutors with a view to sowing them their stand in the contemporary education world as well as their readiness and qualification to educate the learners for the future.
I have put in over seven years into educational researches, and I have discovered that it is a popular problem among research students to be able to construct their instruments for collection of data even when this is a major component for the success of the research. In the coming days, I would be sharing more research guides and tips for students and teachers. This is my way of supporting the @Steemiteducation and the #Education-Hive community.
I decided to put below the following guide question for a researcher who is interested in working on a topic related to "Tutors' acquaintance with Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) Skills".
