Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Malikussaleh, was the speaker at the Merdeka Campus Independent Curriculum Workshop, Management and Accounting Study Program at STIE Bumi Persada Lhokseumawe.
The two speakers from FEB Unimal are the Head of the Accounting Study Program, Dr. Murhaban and the Chair of the Entrepreneurship Study Program, Dr. Naufal Bachri. Apart from the two Malikussaleh University lecturers, there are also lecturers of Commerce Administration at Lhokseumawe State Polytechnic, Hilmi, MM, CMA.
Murhaban reminded the need for specific courses in accordance with local wisdom at STIE Bumi Persada. "It is hoped that the STIE Bumi Persada Accounting Study Program will have its own uniqueness," he said, Tuesday (27/4/2021).
Meanwhile, Naufal Bachri conveyed the basic guidelines for implementing an independent curriculum from the Ministry and dissected the basic curriculum that had been previously formulated by the STIE Bumi Persada team.
"The Merdeka curriculum gives students the freedom to choose, whether to follow the regular curriculum or the curriculum for activities outside the institution," explained Naufal.
According to the lecturer of Commerce Administration at Lhokseumawe State Polytechnic, Hilmi, the Merdeka Curriculum requires problem solving courses so that graduates are accustomed to facing problems in the world of work.
The head of STIE Bumi Persada, Azhari MSM, said that the workshop was aimed at following an ideal independent curriculum in accordance with institutional capabilities and market needs. The workshop was held in two waves, namely for the Management Study Program on April 23-24 and in the Accounting Study Program on April 26-27, 2021.
"Institutions need to adapt again to compete in the world of education with the adjustment of the Free Curriculum.
