The students of Universitas Malikussaleh have served in Pulau Balai Village, Pulau Banyak sub-district, Aceh Singkil. Students record tourism potential on Pulau Banyak and see the lack of information about the area.
The representative of the Malikussaleh University Communication Study Program student, Rizaldi Taufan Harahap, revealed that while he was there he and other students were looking for information and any obstacles in the area.
As in terms of tourism potential, students are still lacking information about promotions, so there are still many who do not know about tourism in the area.
"The lack of response from the government has made Pulau Banyak's potential unknown to the public. Let alone from foreign countries, from within the country and even from Aceh, there are still many who do not know the beauty of Pulau Banyak, ”said Rizaldi, Thursday, April 8, 2021.
He added that infrastructure such as homestay is also not very supportive of tourism activities. Even though the community is actually very supportive of the tourism development of the area so that later it will support the economy of the surrounding residents.
"We hope that the government and society, especially youth, can play a role in promoting the potential of Punya Many, both through social media and various mass media so that they can attract visitors to the area," said Rizaldi.
According to the recognition of a number of residents, the community also hopes for additional infrastructure and supports the government in carrying out its duties for tourism development.
Another activity was carried out by a student of the Malikkusaleh University Mathematics Education Study Program, Bima Pambudi, who taught mathematics to students on Pulau Banyak.
Based on Budi's experience, the quality of education in Pulau Banyak, especially in Pulau Desa Balai, is still lagging behind compared to other areas in Aceh. “Many students still see mathematics as a terrible specter. This mindset must be changed,” said Bima.
The island of Aceh in Aceh Singkil is one of the remote areas that can be reached from Banda Aceh City for 20 hours by road. Meanwhile, from Medan, North Sumatra, it is even shorter, which is about seven hours.
Pulau Banyak has tourism potential in the marine sector with beautiful beaches and white sand. []
