သာဓက တစ်ခုဖြင့်ပြပါမည်။ ရှေးအခါက တိုင်းပြည်တစ်ခု ဘုရင်ကြီးတစ်ပါးအုပ်စိုးလေ့၏။ တစ်နေ့သောအခါ ထိုဘုရင်ကြီးက သူ၏ ပရောဟိတ်(ဗေဒဆရာ) ကြီးကို ခေါ်ပြီး "နောက်နှစ်တွင် ငါဘုရင် ဘာဖြစ်မည်နည်း" ဟုမေးရာ ထိုပရောဟိတ်ကြီးက "နောက်လာမည့်နှစ်တွင် အရှင်မင်းကြီး ကံတော်ကုန်(သေခြင်း)နိုင်ပါသည်" ဟု ကြောက်ရွံ့စွာပြောလေ၏။ ထိုအခါ ဘုရင်ကြီးလည်း တုန်လှုပ်ခြောက်ခြားကာ "ကျွန်ပ် ယခုအချိန်၌ တိုင်းပြည်ကို အုပ်ချုပ်မင်း မလုပ်သင့်တော့" ဟုဆင်ခြင်သုံးသပ်ပြီး, ထီးနန်းကို လွဲပြောင်းသင့်သူထံလွဲပြောင်းပြီး, တရားအားထုတ်ရန် တောသို့ တစ်ဦးတည်းထွက်ခွါသွားလေ၏။

There was a large lake around the king who was meditating. In the middle of the lake was an island with a large fruit tree growing on it. The animals swam to the island to eat the fruit from that tree. Seeing this, the king built a bridge to get to the island easily. In addition, a shelter was built. He made the road so that he wouldn't hit the sharp buttons while walking. When it was finished, he continued to meditate. So when the next year passed, he noticed that he was not dead but still alive. Then he went back to his country.
တိုင်းပြည်သို့ပြန်ရောက်သည်နှင့် ပရောဟိတ်(ဗေဒင်ဆရာ)ကို ရှာပြီး တွေ့သည်နှင့် " သင်သည် အရာရာကို မှန်ကန်စွာဟောပြောခဲ့သော်လည်း ယခုအခါ ကျွန်ပ်အား အဘယ်ကြောင့် မှားယွင်းစွာ ဟောပြောခဲ့သနည်း" ဟုမေးလေ၏။ ထိုအခါ ပရောဟိတ်(ဗေဒင်ဆရာ) က "အရှင်မင်းကြီး တရားအားထုတ်နေစဥ် မည်သို့သော ကိစ္စတွေကို လုပ်ဆောင်ခဲ့ပါသနည်း" ဟုပြန်လည်မေးလေ၏။ ထိုအခါ ဘုရင်ကြီးက သူလုပ်ခဲ့သောကိစ္စများကို ပြောပြလေသည်။ ထိုမှ ပရောဟိတ်ကြီးက "အရှင်မင်းကြီးသည် အများအတွက် ကုသိုလ်များစွာတို့ကို ဆောင်ရွက်ခဲ့သည့် အတွက်, ထိုကုသိုလ်တို့၏ အကျိုးကျေးဇူးကြောင်း ဆက်လက်အသက်ရှင်ခွင့်ရခဲ့ပါသည်" ဟုဖြေကြားလိုက်လေသည်။ ထိုအခါမှ ဘုရင်ကြီးလည်း ကြေနပ်စွာ တောတွင်းသို့ပြန်သွားလျက် တရားအားထုတ်လေ၏။
When he returned to the country, he looked for a prophet (astrologer), and when he found him, he asked, "You have preached everything correctly, but now why have you preached to me wrongly?" Then the prophet (astrologer) asked again, "What kind of things did the king do while he was meditating?" Then the king told the things he had done. Then the prophet replied, "The king has done many good deeds for you, so he has been allowed to continue living because of the benefit of those good deeds." Then the king went back to the forest and meditated.
