I wasn't around when it all started. My entry to Hive was through Splinterlands. I don't know much about crypto, even now. I didn't even know what was I going to do first. All I know was I wanted to play Splinterlands, lol.

I made my account back in June 23, 2021!
A month in, I asked myself, why should I bother with the ecosystem when I could probably leave the playing to a bot? I then discovered that people can actually blog here. My mind buzzed with the endless possibilities and through weeks and months, I stumbled upon one community after another.

Hive is home to different communities and is supported by numerous users regardless of how big or small their stake is. Anyone can start using Hive as long as they have a device (PC or mobile) and an internet connection, and connect to a world that has more freedom than other Web2 platforms. This is a place where you can share your thoughts and ideas without hesitation and without fear that you could be banned or booted out. (Downvotes are a different thing though, haha.)
With the help of feeless transactions, you could engage and transact without worrying or calculating how much gas fees you need to pay. Pretty neat, right? And on most days, interactions with the blockchain are as fast as a blink of an eye... or two!
And how else is Hive going to evolve for the better without its army of developers, investors, communities, and small beans like you and me? What if nobody was opposed to Steem's centralization? What if we're controlled by a single entity? What difference does that make with staying in Web2?

Speaking from a very simplistic point of view, Hive became my gateway to rediscovering my passions and measly dreams. Even if I don't know where I'm exactly heading, being within the ecosystem has led me to dream that I can definitely do more than stick to a 9-to-5 to experience what the world has to offer.
Being in Hive reminded me that I can be whoever and whatever I wanted to be if I put my mind to it. (Or maybe that's the INTP in me speaking, lol.)

Communities I'm currently subscribed to. This list will probably grow more!
Being in Hive helped me connect with people I deem important now. People who can talk about an idea with a different perspective. People who can make think and feel.
Sometimes, I'm nearly convinced that I'm after the camaraderie and not the money anymore. But only time will tell, hahahaha. But hey. Money?

To celebrate, I dished out 10 Hive to power me up!
Don't forget to power up at least 10 HP today to participate in @theycallmedan's event. It's about 100,000 HP in Delegations! Read more about the event in this post.
As we all know, things change. Things end. But, I do hope that Hive continues to thrive greatly and be one of the big movers of Web3! Happy 3rd birthday, Hive. Cheers to all of us!
So, tell me. Why are you still here on Hive?
