It's here! Hive Power Up Day for May 1st 2022

 
 

Seems like just hours ago I was talking about the end of Hive Blog Posting Month, now here I am posting about the beginning of another Hive Power Up Day! And while technically in my little corner of the world there's still about 4 hours left of April (I'm posting this a little bit after 8:00pm EST), #HivePUD for May 1st, 2022 has already arrived in other parts of the world. If you want a super cool way to check if it's officially in your area according to UTC time (which is how the Hive Buzz badges are determined), be sure to check out the Countdown Timer on the hivebuzz.me site (under the green "Power Up" tab), courtesy of the awesomesauce team at @hivebuzz!

To be clear:

• If you want to qualify for the AMAZING Hive Power Up Day badge(s), your power up must happen during the 24 hours of May 1st 2022 according to UTC time.

and/or

• If you want to qualify for the #HivePUD prize pool, your power up and post must happen (according to criteria listed below) during the hours of May 1st 2022, your local time.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

As I mentioned in April's first Hive Power Up Day post for the momth, I've changed things up a bit again with these monthly posts. Ever since @streetstyle started this initiative four years ago last month on our legacy chain, there have been four monthly posts - the Announcement, Welcome to HivePUD, Unofficial, and Official Results. At the time, the announcement was necessary to make people aware of the upcoming event.

But now that Hive Power Up Day is firmly established in the community, and so many people (like @victoriabsb, @fionasfavourites, and @hivebuzz to name a few) are posting announcements, mine seems more than a bit redundant.

So I've decided to combine the traditional first two posts into this one that will be published close to the start of the first each month. I'll then start boosting the signal of the "HivePUD is coming" posts done by others instead, as it seems like it will be the best way to spread the word. 😊

 

Now, for the basic Power Up Day details...

 
 

What is HivePUD?

Hive Power Up Day happens on the first of every month. Those who are able to, take this time to power up some Hive, and/or cancel their power downs and pause trading/selling for the 24 hour span of the day.

What are the rules to win prizes for HivePUD?

The requirements are:

• Your reputation must be above 39 and below 70.
• Your total Hive Power (before the 1st) must be more than 100 and less than 8000.
• You must power up at least 10 Hive on May 1st.
• You must write a post about your power up on May 1st with the tag #HivePUD and/or #HPUD (International), or #HispanicHPUD (Hispanic) as one of your first 5 tags (tagging only in the body of the post doesn't count)..

 
To be included in the winners list, you must meet all four requirements above. The order of the list (first place, second place, and so on) will be determined by the biggest PERCENTAGE of Hive powered up, not necessarily the most Hive powered up.

 

How to get HiveBuzz badges

For details, check their post Hive Power Up Day - May 1st 2022 as well as their Power Up Day Helper Badge post but essentially -

• Power up a minimum of 10 HIVE during the UTC time for the first of the month. Convert your local time to UTC or check the countdown timer on the Hive Buzz site (under the "Challenges" tab) to confirm it's during the first UTC time before you power up.
