Warning: Cuba is under the control of a totalitarian state with the only objective of keeping the power at any cost. This report will show you the actual situation in Cuba, that one that the state propaganda tries to deny.
Politic
Diaz-Canel, Cuba's designated dictator/puppet, rejected the U.S. move to offer a $50 million reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of Venezuelan narco-dictator Nicolas Maduro. Apparently he is afraid that in the future the US government will put a reward on him for human trafficking and forced slave labor.
Economy
The value of 1 dollar is 397 Cuban pesos (CUP). Now the Cuba minimum pension is around 7.67 USD, the minimum wage is 5.45 USD, and the average salary is 16.03 dollars; all amounts are on a monthly basis.
**
If you are wondering how the minimum pension is higher than the minimum wage, it is simple. Recently, in a populist move, the cuban government do a top increase of 3.85 USD in all pensions.
It is true that this is a large data claim of all retired but is made under none economic or financial base. This can only increase the Government Budget déficit and promote an increase in inflation that eats out the increase.
But now the problem is, around a 20 o 30% of workers earn less than the retired people. If there was a lot of vacants jobs in key positions of the economy or gubernamental bureocracy for the shitty pay, now we can expected an aggravation of that.
The previous reforms of pensions always was botched and this is not exception. They never they take pensions to scale. The government simply raise everyone to the new minimum without taking into account their contributions or years worked. Something completely unfair and that leaves many at a disadvantage who see their sacrifices and contributions diluted.
The only exception to this are the military. For its repressive forces there is a differentiated treatment (when it should be the norm). For them, the new retirement is always carried out on a scale, obtaining pensions much higher than the rest. I suppose that their hitmen and minions must be keep happy.
**
As the country collapses, a leak of financial data has revealed that the GAESA military conglomerate, which controls most of Cuba's economy, has more than $18 billion in its bank accounts.
This finding belies the communist government's complaints about its inability to meet foreign debt payments. And it makes this particularly evident in the face of the economic and social debacle that the Cuban people have suffered. Where the majority of the population only eats once a day and where hospitals are in very poor conditions of hygiene and short of medicines and medical supplies.
**
Sugar production in Cuba fell to less than 150,000 tons in 2024-2025, marking an all-time low due to cane shortages, blackouts and lack of resources, without reaching the state plan.
Without sugar there is no country, it was once said about Cuba. These data say it all.
Social
Lack of medicines, high cost of food, and political repression are the constant in Cuba. When this fact changes I will report it.
The organization Prisoners Defenders presented its monthly report on Thursday, in which it warned of 25 new political prisoners in July in Cuba, a number that shot the total figure to a new record of 1,176.
In the same way, it was denounced that 45 innocent women serve their sentences in "filthy prisons", where they are "tortured, humiliated and have no medical attention". The latter is a common practice against political dissidents.
