Here is the sequence of images that I was playing with yesterday fully composed into a penta-tych (my fancy way of saying five images side by side) - which serve to play out the role of Pandora's box being opened again and again over time by ordinary people all over the world.
Except, of course, we depict them entirely as figures painted by the great Rosetti, who served as a solid and meaningful inspiration for this series of images.
If you want to know all of the work that went into the lead up to the creation of the below, go and see my blog post from yesterday, and you'll get to see the various iterations I went through and all the stuff that I threw away.

For this piece, I did a bit of stuff in Photoshop, namely working out the composition, and adding some layering effects on the wings for the 4th figure i the series. I extended the wings (probably crudely) and rotated the final piece, masking it to act as a layered, hovering threat to the right hand side of the frame.
Final composition and its associated layers in Photoshop:
There's layers, and a couple of masks, as well as clipping masks to even out the colours between layers, hopefully making the image transitions less jarring. As I am familiar with Photoshop, having used it for more than two decades, this is "easy" stuff as far as I am concerned, but it might look complicated.
Trust me, it isn't :D
I highly suggest and recommend you look at the large scale image on its own, as the thumbnail probably doesn't do it justice.
Now that I've completed this Pandora series to my own personal satisfaction, I think I want to tackle other goddesses who have interesting stories to tell.
I think I've already got one in mind.
