Diffusing The Air

Do you use a diffuser? Since the plandemic hit, I've learnt a fair bit about air purification and enhancement. When we had little information in the beginning, air purification was one of the things I did to try "clearing the air" of the pathogen. They wouldn't say if it was airborne or not, because they probably didn't know, or deliberately misinformed us to keep us afraid. Someone said the virus survived in liquid bubbles too heavy to be airborne so fell to the ground and other surfaces. Eventually they said it was in the air. It was back to back misinformation and disinformation throughout.

Anyway, I has an air purifier with a HEPPA filter and activated charcoal anyway because of my hay fever allergy and mild asthma. This stuff, in hindsight, would have trapped airborne viruses too, especially since it also has ultraviolet light zapping the air as it passes through it.

Diffusing the air with essential oils that have anti-viral properties was something that also worked. Apart from the relaxation aspect - which is why it's popular for meditation and Yoga, oil diffusers also have health benefits. The specific benefit, of course, depends on the chosen oil.

Oil diffusers are devices that disperse essential oils into the air, providing a range of benefits including aromatherapy, air purification, and relaxation. There are several types of oil diffusers available on the market, each with their own unique features and benefits.

Ultrasonic diffusers use high-frequency vibrations to turn water and essential oils into a fine mist, which is then dispersed into the air. These diffusers are known for their quiet operation, and can run for several hours on a single fill. They also typically come with a variety of light settings, allowing you to create a relaxing ambiance in any room.

Nebulising diffusers, on the other hand, use a small nozzle to atomise essential oils, breaking them down into tiny particles that are dispersed into the air. These diffusers are considered the most effective type, as they do not dilute the oils with water and can cover a larger area. However, they can be more expensive and louder than ultrasonic diffusers.

Evaporative diffusers use a fan to circulate air through a wick or filter, which absorbs the essential oils and releases them into the air. These diffusers are relatively simple to use and maintain, but they do not disperse the oils as effectively as ultrasonic or nebulising diffusers.

There are also diffusers that can be used with a heat source, like a candle or electricity. These diffusers use heat to release the essential oils into the air, but be aware that it can change the chemical composition of the oils and it's not recommended to use them with all types of essential oils.

What the heck are essential oils?

They are highly concentrated plant extracts that have been used for centuries in various cultures for medicinal and therapeutic purposes. Essential oils are typically obtained through steam distillation or cold pressing, and are composed of a complex mixture of chemical compounds like terpenes, esters, and phenols.

Each essential oil has its own unique chemical composition, which gives it its own distinct aroma and therapeutic properties. For example, lavender oil is known for its calming and relaxing properties, while peppermint oil is known for its ability to relieve headaches and improve respiratory function.

Essential oils can be used in a variety of ways, including inhalation, topical application and internal consumption. Of course one must ensure one seeks medical advice before one dabbles too deep into these oils, especially when internally consuming. They should always also be used diluted (highly diluted especially when inhaling, as it is with the oil diffuser above).

What the heck are phenols, esters .....?
