On the last step!
The slope which runs down beside my house to the temple (under construction) and garden/on east side of house can get quite slippery when it rains or snows.
So, i decided to make some steps in a quite easy and cheap way, using worn out car tyres, which were collected from roadside and from tyre fitters.
Fortunately there are willing and able volunteers to do most of the work. i'm in the design and help a little department.
So, as you see in pictures above, the ground is cut out to make a flat surface big enough to fit a car tyre. The tyre is half filled with rubble (plenty here from demolished walls as we renovate the barn), another 1/4 with shingle, and the final quarter with concrete.
Before filling the tyres, the top side wall is cut off using a jigsaw.
On the last step, but run out of sand, so will finish soon.

The construction of a Walker Stoves Masonry Cook Stove has begun, three years after originally planned. Yippee. Build process to follow in installments. Watch this space.
