"I want my normal life "
Since the beginning of this whole journey I have only wished that all this would end, but the more months go by I see that on the contrary the situation gets worse. I am from Venezuela and I live in the capital of the country, here the statistics tell us that the month of December unleashed the virus even more and everything indicates that having lowered the guard in matters of security did not bring good consequences.
This Sunday the authorities gave the weekly report and it was surprising to hear that the number of cases was close to one thousand people per day here in Caracas. Also in the interior of the country the cases have increased, especially in the border countries, because many people managed to pass from Colombia to Venezuela and this made the proliferation of the virus more acute.
So far it is incredible to see the statistics of people who have died as a result of this disease, I am not looking for guilt, I do not want to know if it is the fault of China or the scientists, what I want is that no one dies anymore. Unfortunately, a few months ago I lost two friends, exceptional human beings, Betty and Aura.
My life without internet
Can life exist today without the vital internet? For many it is as vital as the water and air we need to live. In 2020 we realized that "the Internet is a necessary evil" thanks to it we were able to communicate with our relatives from a distance, we were able to see each other's faces and tell each other our things every day.
December was incredible, that is why today I thank those who invented the internet, because thanks to it I can talk to my brothers who are in Chile, to my relatives in Colombia and most importantly I was able to see my mother who is on the border with Colombia at a distance of approximately 16 hours from where I live.
This December we were not able to travel because of the pandemic but it was thanks to technology that we were able to see each other and talk and that calmed down a little bit my anxiety and my nostalgia of being able to be with her during these beautiful days of Christmas.
But what if I have to go back to the country and live without that precious item? This question rumbles in my head again and I don't know how to answer it but I will try. For those who do not know, I am from the country and every time I go there I am the happiest woman in the world, I enjoy every moment and there is always something to do here, from early morning we get up, we light the stove and strain the coffee, we tend the chickens, we milk the cows and look for the firewood, we tend the plants and many other things. There is no time for boredom there.
But let's be honest, the reality is different, one thing is to go for a few days to the country and another is to go live there without knowing how long this will be.
Another thing that also worries me is my family, especially my children, this restless youth is not prepared for a big confinement, so I will have to arm myself with many arguments to make them understand why we must isolate ourselves indefinitely from the city. In the countryside the children have a lot to do and to help, for example we could start to plant our own fruits and vegetables.
In the countryside you can produce everything to live happily🐦 🐾
I could instead raise the chickens, feed the pigs, make the cheese and plant a garden where I have all kinds of spices to spice up the meals.
Until now I have spoken only of food but we women can also take out that creative part that we all carry inside, any technique is good to generate new pieces, call it DIY, recycling or whatever we want we can do it and if we put a little LOVE to it because everything is easier and better.
The fun or distraction is a fundamental part in our lives and I tell them that in the field there is a lot of activity to do, not only we talk about the usual ones in the house like watching TV or video games, you can also read a book or play board games. But outdoors there is much more fun like going to the river, riding horses, going to the mountains, playing in the yard with your cousins or friends, going for a jog or riding a bike; for us women there are also moments of rest and relaxation because in the afternoons we sit down to have a snack with a nice hot coffee and gossip with the girls, I am sure you will not spend your days doing nothing.
Definitely what it is about is generating new options to live and to make the coexistence in the middle of the pandemic more pleasant; I always tell my readers and friends that it is better to "Get busy and not to worry" so keeping your mind busy and in positive will help you to pass the day faster and to forget what could have been and no longer will be.
For now let's continue to take care of ourselves, let's be one of many good Samaritans who add and don't subtract. "Quiero mi vida normal"
Desde que inició toda esta travesía solo he deseado que todo esto termine, pero entre más pasan los meses veo que por el contrario se agrava más la situación. Yo soy de Venezuela y vivo en la capital del país, aquí las estadísticas nos dicen que el mes de diciembre desato aún más el virus y todo indica que haber bajado la guardia en materia de seguridad no trajo buenas consecuencias.
Este domingo las autoridades dieron el parte semanal y fue sorprendente escuchar que la cantidad de casos estaba cerca de mil personas por día aquí en Caracas. Tambien en el interior del país han aumentado los casos, sobre todo en los países fronterizos y es que muchas personas lograron pasar de Colombia hacia Venezuela y eso agudizó la proliferación del virus.
Hasta ahora es increíble ver las estadísticas de gente que ha fallecido a consecuencia de este mal, no ando buscando culpables, no quiero saber si es culpa de China o de los científicos, lo que quiero es que ya no muera más nadie. Lamentablemente hace unos meses perdí a dos amigas, seres humanos excepcionales, Betty y Aura ¡Nunca las podré olvidar!
Mi vida sin internet
¿Acaso hoy en día puede existir una vida sin el vital internet? para muchos es tan vital como el agua y el aire que necesitamos para vivir. El 2020 nos dimos cuenta que "el Internet es un mal necesario" gracias a él pudimos comunicarnos con nuestros familiares a distancia, pudimos vernos las caras y contarnos nuestras cosas cada día.
Diciembre fue increíble, por eso hoy en día agradezco a los que inventaron el internet, porque gracias a eso puede hablar con mis hermanos que están en Chile, con mis familiares en Colombia y lo más importante pude ver a mi madre que se encuentra en la frontera con Colombia a una distancia de 16 horas aproximadamente de donde yo vivo.
Este Diciembre no pudimos viajar por culpa de la pandemia pero fue gracias a la tecnología que nos pudimos ver y hablar y eso calmó un poco mis ansias y mi nostalgia de poder estar con ella en estos días tan hermosos de la navidad.
¿Pero que pasaría si me tengo que devolver al campo y vivir sin ese preciado articulo? Esta pregunta retumba nuevamente en mi cabeza y no sé cómo responder pero lo intentaré. Para los que no saben soy del campo y cada vez que voy allí soy la mujer más feliz del mundo, disfruto cada momento y es que aquí siempre hay algo que hacer, desde bien temprano nos levantamos, encendemos el fogón y colamos el café, atendemos las gallinas, ordeñamos las vacas y buscamos la leña, atendemos las plantas y muchas cosas más. Allí no hay tiempo para el aburrimiento.
Pero seamos honestos, la realidad es otra, una cosas es ir por unos cuantos días al campo y otra es irse a vivir allí sin saber hasta cuándo será esto.
Otra cosa que también me preocupa es mi familia, sobre todo mis hijos, esta juventud inquieta no está preparada para un encierro de gran magnitud, así que tendré que armarme de muchos argumentos para hacerles entender porque debemos aislarnos indefinidamente de la ciudad. En el campo los chicos tienen mucho que hacer y en que ayudar, por ejemplo podríamos comenzar a sembrar nuestras propias frutas y hortalizas.
Yo en cambio podría encargarme de criar las gallinas, alimentar los cerdos, elaborar el queso y sembrar un huerto donde tenga todo tipo de especias para darle sabor a las comidas.
Hasta ahora he hablado solo de comida pero las mujeres también podemos sacar esa parte creativa que todas llevamos por dentro, cualquier técnica es buena para generar piezas nuevas, llámese bricolaje, reciclaje o lo que queramos lo podemos hacer y si a eso le ponemos un poco de AMOR pues todo es más fácil y mejor.
La diversión o distracción es una parte fundamental en nuestras vidas y les cuento que en el campo hay mucha actividad por hacer, no solo hablamos de las acostumbradas dentro de casa como ver televisión o video juegos, también puedes leer un libro o jugar juegos de mesa.
Pero al aire libre hay mucha más diversión como ir al rió, montar caballo, ir a la montaña, jugar en el patio con tus primos o amigos, salir a trotar o andar bicicleta; para nosotras las mujeres también hay momentos de descanso y relajación porque por las tardes nos sentamos a tomar una merienda con un rico café bien caliente y echar chisme con las chicas, estoy segura que no te vas a pasar los días sin hacer nada.
Definitivamente de lo que se trata es de generar nuevas opciones para vivir y hacer más agradable la convivencia en medio de la pandemia; Siempre les digo a mis lectores y amigos que es mejor "Ocuparse y no preocuparse" así que mantener la mente ocupada y en positivo te ayudara a pasar más rápido el día y a olvidarte de lo que pudo haber sido y ya no será.
Por ahora sigamos cuidándonos, seamos uno de tantos buenos samaritanos que suma y no resta. Los invito a colaborar con el que está a tu lado, aunque no creas hay gente que la está pasando mal con todo esto y una de esas personas puede estar a tu lado ¡ayúdalo! por favor.
