Yesterday i decided to go for a walk and take some photos of this rather special town. It is unusual here as the entire town is based around an Ashram where people come for spiritual and devotional reasons only. In the ashram people leave all material concerns behind.. The town itself is very special also, and the atmosphere of love is palpable. The people lead a very simple life. Many are very poor financially and yet they are so present in the moment. Most of them have been here forever, doing the same thing every day, none stop. They never seem to get bored or frustrated. Most seem to shine and they just lead their lives, with each other as family and community.
I think it would be very hard as a European to live like this, and yet it is a joy to witness it. They are so welcoming and friendly, and just get on with whatever they are doing. There is great hardship for some, and yet the can still smile and do not complain...
SO i hope you enjoy these photos.. All were taken with permission of the people concerned.. of course! IN india you hardly have to ask, everyone seems to LOVE being photographed!
