Last week we asked you all which topic you would like to choose for Season 10 of QOTW, and your response was just fantastic... thank you! Nearly 60 of you responded, which makes me very happy that so many of you are interested in this topic.. and nearly all of you chose Sustainability and Holistic living. This is a very broad topic and covers a huge range of things that i have to be honest could keep this season rolling on for a very long time! There is so much to ask, so much to look at, to think about and to share, and i know you guys are going to be keeping the ecoTrain community page and #qotw tag full of amazing posts!

To kick this season off we are starting right at the very basics.. so that we can even know what it is we are even talking about when we speak of Sustainability of Holistic living. These are words that are thrown around today by almost everyone and yet i do wonder if we all have the same idea about what it actually means. Very often these things mean something different to all of us, not that our ideas have to conflict, but that we all focus on a particular aspect that is more important to us. Sustainability for example can refer to almost anything, from how we consume, the things we buy, and the way we lead our lives. Sustainability is a term we use to mean something that can last and continue to last, but what it is that you want to see continue? Maybe its our great forests, or maybe its our many limited resources, or maybe its the planet and life itself!

Holistic living is another concept that is becoming more popular as we all seek to become more balanced and in tune with our own bodies and the world we live in. These days its becoming more important than ever to find ways to stay happy and centred with so much information coming our way, so many distractions, and temptations. Living a holistic lifestyle can include our diet, what we eat, how we keep our bodies in shape, and healthy.. and there are a 1000 ways to do it. Today Yoga is now mainstream but that is just the tip of the iceberg for the many other ways for us to live a better and more productive life.

So this week we ask you to share what these terms mean to you, and which aspects of them are most important to you. Your answer can be very personal and does not have to be about the whole world or any global issues.. in fact i encourage you to look very locally at your own home, family, and neighbourhood. Once you have identified what these terms mean please then dig a little deeper and share why you think they are important. That is of course the crux of the question, to understand why something is important is not always obvious, and yet can be the drive for what makes us continue to strive to achieve these goals and ideals.

As always there is no right or wrong answer and we welcome all ideas and thoughts on the subject. I am excited to see what you all will post, and im sure i will be very busy this next week reading them all. Now is a great time to thank the new ecoTrain team who are helping me to read, vote, and comment on all your posts. Now that we receive up to and even more than 100 posts on each question from all parts of the world, this QOTW is becoming more and more interesting. For me that is one of the things that makes it so compelling, because we are all from almost every continent and culture, and its very interesting to see what things we have in common and what things we have different views on. Lets see what you all have to say about this weeks question!
