What was i doing in my vegetable garden in september?

¡Hola a todos! Me muero por contarles todo lo que estuve haciendo en el mes de septiembre en mi jardín, realicé varios “experimentos” que resultaron muy bien y quiero mostrárselos para que vean lo fácil que es empezar a sembrar. Solo necesitan paciencia y mucha buena vibra, aunque no lo crean las plantas la sienten, y una buena energía las ayudará a crecer bellas y sanas.

Hello, everybody! I can't wait to tell you all about what I was doing in my garden in September. I did some "experiments" that turned out very well and I want to show you how easy it is to start planting. You just need patience and a lot of good vibes, even if you don't believe it the plants feel it, and a good energy will help them grow beautiful and healthy.

Todo está creciendo muy bonito gracias a las lluvias que ha habido, he recogido varios ajíes de buen tamaño y muy ricos. Pronto sembraré tomates, melones y calabaza butternut. Los tomates ya los puse a germinar, para las otras dos estoy esperando a armarle el enrejado para sembrarlas directo en la tierra.

Everything is growing very nicely thanks to the rains that have taken place, I have collected several chilies of good size and very tasty. Soon I will plant tomatoes, melons and butternut squash. The tomatoes I have already put them to germinate, for the other two I am waiting to set up a trellis to sow them directly into the ground.

Este es el primer cuento del post, hace unas semanas me empeñe en querer sembrar tomate cherry, cuando tenía la oportunidad pasaba por varias fruterías y nunca lo conseguía para obtener las semillas, ya casi había desistido cuando me encontré un día con que estaban limpiando la entrada de mi sector (que estaba horrible de monte, parecía una jungla) y entre todo eso había una planta de tomate cherry, que quien sabe como llegó ahí, pero ya tenía varios tomates, solo había uno maduro así que lo tomé. Tuve toda la suerte del mundo porque la trasplantaron pero no sobrevivió. Así que este fue mi experimento más reciente, poner a germinar estas semillas y esperar que se den.

This is the first story of the post, a few weeks ago I insisted on wanting to plant cherry tomatoes, when I had the opportunity I went through several fruit shops and never managed to get them to obtain the seeds, I had almost given up when I found one day that someone was cleaning the entrance to my sector (which was horrible because of the weeds, it looked like a jungle) and among all that there was a cherry tomato plant, who knows how it got there, but it already had several tomatoes, there was only one ripe one so I took it. I had all the luck in the world because they transplanted it but it didn't survive. So this was my most recent experiment, to put these seeds to germinate and hope that they would grow.

Otra cosa con la que me empeciné fue en conseguir una albahaca específica, por aquí varias personas tienen pero no eran las que yo quería, estas tenían un olor como más dulce y no me gustan tanto. Busqué, sembré varias semillas que me regalaron pero no eran. Luego averigüé como propagarla pero seguía sin conseguirla hasta que un día un día mi vecino de en frente me dio varias verduras que le regalaron para cocinárselas y entre ellas había un manojo pequeño de albahaca, estaba un poco fea pero coloqué unas ramitas en un vasito con agua justo como había visto y las dejé en una ventana. Se supone que de 10 a 15 días empezarían a salirle raíces, pacientemente las veía y les cambiaba el agua. Empecé a desanimarme cuando habían pasado casi 3 semanas y no pasaba nada, ya me estaba dando por vencida y me olvidé de ellas un par de días. Una mañana me asomé a verlas y cuál fue mi sorpresa: a una de las ramas empezaba a salirle una pequeña raíz. ¡Me alegre muchísimo! Seguro parte de mi alegría se le contagió a la albahaca, los días siguientes continuaron saliéndole raíces a todas y cuando me pareció que estaban listas, las sembré. Y allí están, creciendo poco a poco, y yo muy feliz.

Another thing I was determined to do was to get a specific basil, around here several people have basil but it wasn't the one I wanted, these had a sweeter smell and I don't like them as much. I searched, I sowed several seeds that were given to me but they were not the right ones. Then I found out how to propagate it but I still couldn't get it until one day my neighbor in front of my house gave me several vegetables that were given to him to cook and among them there was a small bunch of basil, it was a bit ugly but I put some stalks in a little glass with water just like I had seen and I left them in a window. It was supposed to take 10 to 15 days for the roots to start growing, so I patiently looked at them and changed the water. I started to get discouraged when almost 3 weeks had passed and nothing was happening, I was already giving up and forgot about them for a couple of days. One morning I looked at them and what was my surprise: a small root was beginning to grow on one of the branches. I was so happy! I'm sure part of my joy was passed on to the basil. The next few days it continued to grow roots on all of them and when I thought they were ready, I planted them. And there they are, growing little by little, and I am very happy.

Había una tercera cosa que tenia metida entre ceja y ceja (aquí ustedes dirán, ¡pero qué mujer tan necia!) y era celery, uno de esos vegetales que también puedes sembrar a partir de desechos (como el cebollín y el puerro). Entonces, un día que estábamos comprando los ingredientes para hacer comida china, busqué unos que tuvieran una parte de la raíz, cuando los fuimos a usar corté los tallos a unos cm de la base y los coloqué en un envase con un poco de agua. La cambiaba todos los días y aproximadamente 7 u 8 días después les empezó a crecer una nueva raíz y unos días después de eso, las planté y han ido creciendo bien.

There was a third thing I had stuck between my eyes (here you will say, but what a stubborn woman!) and it was celery, one of those vegetables that you can also grow from waste (like chives and leeks). So, one day when we were buying the ingredients to make Chinese food, I looked for some that had a part of the root, when we went to use them I cut the stems a few inches from the base and placed them in a container with some water. I changed it every day and approximately 7 or 8 days later a new root started to grow and a few days after that, I planted them and they have been growing well.

Esto fue en su mayoría lo que estuve haciendo el mes pasado, y algunas pequeñas tareas como buscar materiales, armar mis pilas de compost, deshierbar y otras cositas que les estaré contando pronto. This was mostly what I was doing last month, and some small tasks like looking for materials, building my compost piles, weeding and other little things that I will be telling you about soon.
