Yesterday morning ended up being a more mellow morning. We were heading to town before noon and I had to get my order ready and submitted. My body is pretty battered from the days of tilling and rock digging and the jets do an okay job of working the knots. Not TENS level but still better than nothing by a long shot.
I have my order in now and I will be getting a brand new Troybilt Mustang tiller. My old tiller has done me well for the past decade but it is beaten and bruised from all the abuse I have given it. The new tiller has a much bigger engine, geared drive train, and overall much stronger build quality. It weighs more and should be able to much easier handle the depths I till to and the rocky soil. My body has had enough pain from pushing my old tiller around, time to let the new one dive itself. I won't be getting it for 2 weeks so I will be using my old one till then.
Also have the decking for the studio delivering tomorrow or the next day so I can get that built in the next month or two.
We all headed to North Spokane to the theater to see the Sonic The Hedgehog 2 movie which was pretty good. Not many people in the theater as it was mid day on Easter. The boys were super happy to see it and they did a good job of filling in backstory from the first film. It is left wide open for the third movie which will probably come out in a few years.
On our way out this beauty was parked in front of the place. Really nice Shelby GT.
Back at the farm I headed out to the garden and got tilling. I back filled the trench form the rock field I had dug up then tilled the top of the rows again. I made a pass tilling and dug up rocks from the row then felt myself getting run down and remembered that I needed to eat something other than popcorn. After getting food in me I was able to go out and spend the next couple hours finishing the main garden.
I had to dig a few boulders out but nothing compared to the day before. With the first tilling done I am going to spread ash over the area and Rootshield to help protect the plants. Then I will go and till the entire thing a second time but it will be FAR FAR easier now that the bulk of the soil is broken up. Which is something that the new tiller will be perfect for since it has both forward and counter rotating tines to either break up the soil or to till broken soil.
For now I am going to eave the boulders piled where they are so I can focus on the tilling. I have 13 days to get the garden planted so need to be on my game and getting it done.
Before dinner @stryeyz and I went out and hid a bunch of candy filled eggs for the boys who spent about half an hour finding them all. It took some hints to get the last of them but they were super happy to run like crazy and compete against each other to find them.
I was out soaking early, my body is just plain sore after 4 days of tilling and digging. My wrists and elbows are really sore from all the pounding of the tiller and the rocking motion I have to use to get it to till then drive forward. I made it to 9pm before I was done.
Today I am going to try to take it a bit easier on myself and try to get my body to recuperate some. I need to make a place for the delivery, spread ashes and Rootshield, boys have school, I need to bake bread again, and drop a bale into the sheep.
