Hello friends welcome to my blog, this is my entry for the question of the week challenge hosted by @ecotrain. I hope you enjoy reading my post regarding the question "what is the best kind of action"?. Here I will be talking about good roads, the road in question will be the ikot-ekpene express road here in Abia state.
This ikot-ekpene express road has been in a very bad condition for a very long period of time, with nobody in power (governors, deputy governors or even a house representative) wanting to do something regards the shape of this road. This is the only road that leads to my great citadel of learning (Michael Okpara University of Agriculture) popularly known as MOUAU.
Students Union Government of this school has written an appeal to those in authority countless times to look into the matter but all they do is promise and at the end nothing is done. Accidents became a normal on this particular road, some with minor casualties and others with major casualties and still nothing was done until it escalated and lead to the death of two students, then it dawned on the entire school to host a protest.
The students of the school carried out a peaceful protest, they blocked the express road, thereby hindering movement of vehicles on this particular road for two days and those in authority gave the response we all have been waiting for.

A day after the protest was called off by the student Union Government, construction of the road commenced and still in progress till date.
