First of all, my warm greetings to the entire Ecotrain community and to the members of the QOTW initiative. Today in this new challenge we are asked a question, whose topic I touched on in my last post and which talks about the world population.
Personally, I think this topic should be treated with a lot of tact, since it touches on different positions, personal beliefs and visions of the problem and how to solve it. But personally, I also think that the topic of world overpopulation is very manipulated by the media and even more, that there is very little serious and very manipulated information on this point, so I think we must be very critical when giving our opinion on this matter and also know the information first hand.
Otherwise, we run the risk of becoming the protagonist of the novel "Inferno" by Dan Brown, whose general plot is the creation of a virus to control the world population and the struggle of the protagonist to prevent the pathogen from being released. In this science fiction book, the creator of the virus strain believes that in order to save the world, the world population must be controlled and in fact he believes he is a sort of messiah, savior of the world and has a group of followers of his theory in different countries.
Now, returning to reality, we can say that if it is true that the world population has grown exponentially since the years after the Second World War until today, it is also true that this is not the fundamental cause of the destruction of the environment, hunger and violence in the world.
As I commented in my last post, most of the world's population is divided into these nine countries, I leave you with data from the World Bank, on the subject, I also leave you with this page that gives an update on average world population growth.
But just as these countries are overpopulated in some areas, especially in urban areas, they also have unused habitable and arable geographical spaces. On the other hand, we also find countries that have a large territory and not enough population in them, we could name Australia, which is a country of large geographical dimensions and has less than 25 million inhabitants, a country that in fact has had a very active migration policy to try to populate more of its territory and, on the other side of the world we have countries like Bolivia with almost one million square kilometers and less than twelve million inhabitants, and a population density of eleven people per square kilometer.
So we could say that the world is not overpopulated, but the population density is very poorly distributed. This situation has been treated very seriously by different authors and researchers.
At this point, I would like to mention again my previous post, where I talked about Dr. J. Lovelock's book, "The Earth is Exhausting" because in it he states that the planet is alive, and as a living being, it is sick, and that disease is due to the excess of human population and Lovelock, defines this disease in his book with the name of "Poliantroponemia".
Now, before J. Lovelock's book, the American writer and researcher Susan George had written the Lugano Report in 1999, in which she talked about how the elites that govern the world were going to apply policies to reduce the world population by up to 25% in order to preserve capitalism as a production model and for the benefit and comfort of the ruling elites.
Another revealing book, which also touches on the subject of overpopulation and how the media manipulate information and reality in order to create opinion matrixes that end up being supported by the majority of the population, is the book "Hitler won the war" by the author Walter Graziano, where he exposes his theories on how the international elites place and remove presidents, create opinion matrixes and generate the media agenda that we consume around the world.
Personally, I believe that the world's biggest problem is not overpopulation, since, as I said above, it does not exist in the dimensions that we are led to believe. I believe that the most serious problem is the way and the conditions in which we produce.
In the world there is enough space for everyone, there is enough arable land, what happens is that they are misused, they are also destroyed by mining companies, monocultures and a number of other situations that we comment and denounce constantly, in this channel and by other means.
If we do not change our way of seeing the world and interacting with it, if we do not change the means of production, if we do not make the productive processes ecological and sustainable, we will make the planet an inhospitable and inevitable place in the coming decades.
The whole fundamental problem of humanity is reduced to the economic and social vision of small economic and political elites, who decide for entire nations, but not for the good of those countries, but for the benefit of a dominant minority.
In fact, the war in Ukraine, the economic collapse of Europe, the birth of new centers of power and all the changes we are seeing worldwide, are part of that.
I believe that if we do not change our mentality, if we do not begin to accept, tolerate and respect the other, if we do not respect and take care of the planet, no matter how many people there are or are not, the planet will be so inhospitable and uninhabitable in the not too distant future, that all the dystopian books and movies will remain in diapers before reality.
In conclusion, I will say that personally, I believe that the world's problem is not overpopulation, but our way of generating resources, our way of relating to others and the way we relate to the planet. Thus, I believe that to save the world we must first change ourselves as individuals, and then change as a society, otherwise any attempt to change our current reality, will be destined to fail, from the beginning.

Antes que nada, mis cordiales saludos a toda la comunidad de Ecotrain y a los miembros de la iniciativa QOTW. Hoy en este nuevo reto nos hacen una pregunta, cuyo tema toqué en mi post pasado y que habla sobre la población mundial.
En lo personal, creo que este tema debe ser tratado con mucho tacto, dado que toca diferentes posturas, creencias personales y visiones del problema y de cómo resolverlo. Pero en lo personal, también pienso que el tópico de la superpoblación mundial, está muy manipulado por los medios y más aún, que hay información muy poco seria y muy manipulada sobre este punto, por eso pienso que debemos ser muy críticos a la hora de opinar sobre esta materia y además conocer la información de primera mano.
Si no, corremos el riesgo de convertirnos en el protagonista de la novela “Inferno” de Dan Brown, cuyo argumento general es la creación de un virus para controlar a la población mundial y la lucha del protagonista para evitar que dicho patógeno sea liberado. En este libro de ciencia ficción, el creador de la cepa del virus, piensa que para salvar al mundo hay que controlar a la población mundial y de hecho se cree una suerte de mesías, salvador del mundo y tiene un grupo de seguidores de su teoría en diferentes países.
Ahora bien, volviendo a la realidad, podemos decir que si es cierto la población mundial ha crecido de manera exponencial desde los años posteriores a la segunda guerra mundial hasta la actualidad, también es cierto que esa no es la causa fundamental de la destrucción del medioambiente, del hambre y de la violencia en el mundo.
Como bien lo comenté en mi post pasado, la mayoría de la población del mundo está dividida en estos nueve países, les dejo datos del Banco Mundial, sobre el tema, también les dejo esta página que da una actualización en promedio del crecimiento de la población mundial..
Pero así como estos países están sobre poblados en algunas áreas, especialmente en las zonas urbanas, también tienen espacios geográficos habitables y cultivables sin usar. Por otro lado, también nos encontramos con países que poseen un gran territorio y no tienen suficiente población en ellos, podríamos nombrar a Australia, que es un país de grandes dimensiones geográficas y tiene menos de 25 millones de habitantes, país que de hecho ha tenido una política de migración muy activa para tratar de poblar más su territorio y, en el otro lado del mundo tenemos países como Bolivia de casi un millón de kilómetros cuadrados y menos de doce millones de habitantes, y una densidad poblacional de once personas por kilómetro cuadrado.
Por lo que podríamos decir, que el mundo no está sobre poblado, sino que la densidad poblacional está muy mal distribuida. Situación que ha sido tratada de manera muy seria por diferentes autores e investigadores.
En este punto, quisiera hacer de nuevo mención a mi post anterior, donde hablé del libro del Dr. J. Lovelock, “La Tierra se Agota” dado que en él se plantea, que el planeta está vivo, y que como ser vivo, está enfermo, y esa enfermedad se debe al exceso de población humana y Lovelock, define esta enfermedad en su libro con el nombre de "Poliantroponemia".
Ahora bien, antes del libro de J. Lovelock, la escritora e investigadora estadounidense Susan George, había escrito el Informe Lugano, en el año 1999, ahí nos hablaba de como las élites que gobiernan el mundo, iban a aplicar políticas para la reducción de la población mundial, hasta un 25%, para poder preservar el capitalismo como modelo de producción y para el beneficio y la comodidad de las élites dominantes.
Otro libro revelador, que también toca el tema de la sobre población y de como los medios de comunicación, manipulan las informaciones y la realidad, para crear matrices de opinión que terminen siendo apoyadas por la mayoría de la población, es el libro “Hitler ganó la guerra” del autor Walter Graziano, donde este expone sus teorías, sobre como las élites internacionales colocan y quitan presidentes, crean matrices de opinión y generan la agenda mediática que consumimos en el mundo entero.
Yo en lo personal, opino que el problema más grande que tiene el mundo no es la sobre población, ya que como lo comenté arriba, no existe tal en las dimensiones que nos quieren hacer pensar. Considero que el problema más grave es la forma y las condiciones en que producimos.
En el mundo hay suficiente espacio para todos, hay suficientes tierras cultivables, lo que pasa es que son mal utilizadas, también son destruidas por las empresas mineras, los monocultivos y otra cantidad de situaciones que comentamos y denunciamos constantemente, en este canal y por otros medios.
Si no cambiamos, nuestra manera de ver al mundo y de interactuar con él, si no cambiamos los medios de producción, si no hacemos que los procesos productivos sean ecológicos y sustentables, haremos del planeta un lugar inhóspito e inevitable en las próximas décadas.
Todo el problema de fondo, de la humanidad, se reduce a la visión económica y social de pequeñas élites económicas y políticas, que deciden por naciones enteras, pero no por el bien de esos países, sino por el beneficio de una minoría dominante.
De hecho, la guerra en Ucrania, la caída económica de Europa, el nacimiento de nuevos centros de poder y todos los cambios que estamos viendo a nivel mundial, son parte de eso.
Creo que si no cambiamos nuestra mentalidad, si no empezamos a aceptar, a tolerar y respetar al otro, si no respetamos y cuidamos el planeta, no importa cuanta gente haya o deje de haber, el planeta será tan inhóspito e inhabitable en un futuro no muy lejano, que todos los libros y películas distópicas se quedarán en pañales ante la realidad.
Para terminar, diré que en lo personal, considero que el problema del mundo no es la sobre población, sino nuestra forma de generar recursos, nuestra forma de relacionarnos con los demás y la forma en que nos relacionamos con el planeta. Siendo así, opino que para salvar al mundo primero debemos cambiar nosotros como individuos, para después cambiar como sociedad, de no hacerlo, todo intento de cambiar nuestra realidad actual, estará destinado al fracaso, desde su inicio.
