La conexión con la naturaleza da una sensación de tranquilidad, de paz, de alegría y existe una relación reciproca con todo lo que ella representa, la vida en sus múltiples formas. Somos parte de la naturaleza a pesar de que a veces estamos alejados de ella y reencontrarnos es como si visitáramos a un ser muy querido, lo abrazamos e intercambiamos energías que nos alimentan espiritual y físicamente.
The connection with nature is a sensation, tranquility, peace, joy and there is a reciprocal relationship with all that it represents, life in multiple forms. We are part of nature even though sometimes we are far away from it and meeting it again is as if we were visiting a loved one, we embrace it and we exchange energies that nourish us spiritually and physically.
En esta semana la comunidad Eco-train con el apoyo de Dreemport y @dreemsteem, nos pregunta acerca de alguna de estas experiencias, la favorita y por que la conexión con la naturaleza es importante. Esta fue mi experiencia.
This week the Eco-train community, with the support of
dreemport, asks us about one of these experiences, our favorite and why the connection with nature is important.
Desde que estaba muy pequeña me gustaba estar al aire libre y disfrutar de las plantas, la lluvia, me encantan los animales, la naturaleza en su totalidad, y esa conexión se ha incrementado con los años. Cuando llueve me siento muy bien, a pesar de que muchas personas dicen que el tiempo está feo, cuando se está oscurecido por las nubes, para mi es todo lo contrario, es hermoso ver caer la lluvia, los truenos y relámpagos, es un espectáculo maravilloso.
Since I was very little I have loved being outdoors and enjoying the plants, the rain, I love animals, nature as a whole, and that connection has increased over the years. When it rains I feel very good, even though many people say that the weather is ugly, when it is obscured by clouds, for me it is just the opposite, it is beautiful to see the rain fall, the thunder and lightning is a wonderful spectacle.
He conocido muchos lugares hermosos en mi país, Venezuela, y pienso que es un regalo que tenemos que amar y cuidar. Hay una montaña que para mí es mágica, la Montaña Azul, la conocí cuando me mudé a la ciudad de Maracay a estudiar y desde ese momento quedé enamorada de ella. He tenido la oportunidad de conocer parte de su naturaleza, es una selva nublada con una vegetación y fauna exuberante. Fue declarada Parque Nacional para proteger su delicado equilibrio. Es el Parque Nacional Henry Pittier, también llamado Rancho Grande. Con sus 2.436 m de altura, alberga una gran biodiversidad en diferentes estratos.
I have known many beautiful places in my country, Venezuela, and I think it is a gift that we have to love and take care of. There is a mountain that for me is magical, the Blue Mountain, I met it when I moved to the city of Maracay to study and from that moment I fell in love with it. I have had the opportunity to get to know part of its nature, it is a cloud forest with exuberant vegetation and fauna. It was declared a National Park to protect its delicate balance. It is the Henry Pittier National Park, also called Rancho Grande. With its 2.436 m of altitude, it houses a great biodiversity in different strata.
Recuerdo la primera vez que pude llegar caminando a una parte de esta montaña, desde donde nace un rio hasta llegar al valle donde sigue su curso y en ese descenso se forman una serie de pozos unos más profundos que otros. Para llegar hasta el primer pozo hay que subir una gran escalera, porque allí fue construido un acueducto, allí está el primer pozo, luego hay que caminar por senderos a ambos lados del río, en la medida que se asciende la vegetación se hace más cerrada, las raíces de los grandes árboles sobresalen de la tierra.
I remember the first time I was able to walk to a part of this mountain, from where a river is born until it reaches the valley where it continues its course and in that descent a series of wells are formed, some deeper than others. To reach the first well you have to climb a large staircase, because there was built an aqueduct, there is the first well, then you have to walk along trails on both sides of the river, as you ascend the vegetation becomes more closed, the roots of large trees protrude from the ground.
Al llegar al segundo pozo, y para aliviar el cansancio de la subida, me sumergí en él , el agua estaba muy fría, pero al instante me sentí relajada, estar en el agua escuchando solo el sonido de la selva, aislada de todo contacto con la ciudad, fue una experiencia fascinante, olvidarme de todo y estar solo en conexión con lo que me rodeaba. Sentir el agua fría que se movía a mi alrededor y sobre mí, las hojas secas que caían de los árboles y que el agua arrastraba en su camino, fue tranquilizador. Cerré los ojos por un instante y me quedé allí entre las rocas y el agua. Cuando salí, sentí la piel de mi cuerpo muy suave y fresca. Hay una energía que emana de todo lo que en esta montaña se encuentra.
Upon reaching the second well, and to relieve the fatigue of the climb, I got into the well, the water was very cold, but instantly I felt relaxed, immersed in the water listening only to the sound of the jungle, isolated from all contact with the city, was a fascinating experience, forget everything and be alone in connection with what surrounded me. Feeling the cold water moving around me and over me, the dry leaves falling from the trees that the water carried on its way, it was reassuring. I closed my eyes for a moment and stood there between the rocks and the water. When I came out, I felt the skin of my body very soft and fresh.
Continúe subiendo en compañía de mis amigos, y llegamos a un tercer pozo y a partir de aquí, fue imposible seguir por la montaña, la vegetación es muy intrincada y continuamos el ascenso atravesando los pozos, llegamos a uno más profundo de aguas de color verde claro, reflejo de las lajas que están en el fondo y del musgo que crece sobre las rocas. Los sonidos de los animales se hacían más frecuentes y fuertes, monos, tigres, y aves de muchas especies habitan esta montaña.
I continued climbing in the company of my friends, and we reached a third well and from here, it was impossible to continue up the mountain, the vegetation is very intricate and we continued the ascent through the wells, we reached a deeper one of light green water, reflecting the slabs that are at the bottom, it is beautiful. The sounds of animals became more frequent and louder, monkeys, tigers, and birds of many species inhabit this mountain.
Pude contar cinco pozos hasta llegar a un claro donde se veía el rio que les da origen. Hasta allí llegamos, me hubiera gustado continuar y adentrarme aún más en la montaña, pero es una caminata que requiere estar preparado y conocer el camino para no perderse.
I was able to count five wells until I reached a clearing where I could see the river that originates them. I would have liked to continue and go deeper into the mountain, but it is a hike that requires being prepared and knowing the way to avoid getting lost.
He tenido la oportunidad de visitar otros lugares en la montaña y siempre siento una gran conexión con todo lo que representa. Siendo profesora de Botánica en la Facultad de Agronomía, hacemos una visita al Camino de reconocimiento de la naturaleza que se encuentra en la Estación Biológica de Rancho Grande y allí los estudiantes pueden conectarse con la biodiversidad de este lugar y ellos sienten admiración por adentrarse en este camino entre la vegetación y conocer las relaciones que se establecen entre todos los seres vivos que allí habitan, desde el maravilloso Árbol Niño el más alto de esta selva con casi 60 metros de altura hasta las bromelias y orquídeas que habitan sobre los árboles. Un maravilloso equilibrio natural.
I have had the opportunity to visit other places in the mountain and I always feel a great connection with everything it represents. Being a professor of Botany in the Faculty of Agronomy, we visit the Nature Recognition Trail that is located in the Rancho Grande Biological Station and there the students can connect with the biodiversity of this place and they feel admiration for entering this path through the vegetation and learn about the relationships that are established between all the living beings that live there, from the wonderful Arbol Niño, the tallest tree in this jungle with almost 60 meters high, to the bromeliads and orchids that live on the trees. A wonderful natural balance.
Y cuando no puedo visitarla con la frecuencia que quisiera, la admiro desde el balcón de mi casa, todos los días al despertarme y todas las noches al acostarme, con su manto de nubes y la neblina que la cubre.
And when I cannot visit it as often as I would like, I admire it from the balcony of my house, every day when I wake up and every night when I go to bed, with its blanket of clouds and the mist that covers it.
