Shortly after my last post about growing Thyme in water, I decided to move some of them to their own pots. I had some Thyme already in pots but many were not doing so well. It was not their fault as during their move they did not get treated well. So I thought it was best to dig up the sickly looking ones and take the strongest Thyme from the water and move them to their own pots.
Using some pots I was given I bought some potting soil and filled them mostly up. A few of those pots do not have drains so for those I just added some rocks to the bottom of the pot.
I still have many Thyme seedlings in the water, will need to find a place to transplant them. But outside it may be too cold for them right now.
Taking a closer look at the Thyme seedlings I transplanted they are a couple inches tall. Their roots were about as long as the plant if not longer.
Some were growing over the side of the water dish they were in, so in those cases they are growing a little sideways. I try to rotate the pots so the plant will get enough light.
Its good to see new growth from the seedlings once placed in the water, hope they like their new home in pots. They will have alot more room for the roots in there.
Still need to adjust my light timer a little bit, this one confuses me. I think I may buy a digital one in the future.
We can see some of the Thyme I did not move, it was not dead yet but was pretty stressed.
Some worse than others, one of the bigger pots had multiple Thyme in it and most of them died but a couple seem still alive.
So about half the potted Thyme needed to be replaced, hoping my new seedlings will do better in a place with the right amount of light.
The room is getting pretty full, but I have a feeling before the spring time I will have alot more in this room. But for now its working great and looking forward to the Thyme growing along with my other seeds I will be starting soon. I want make better use of that wire shelf on the left, but still thinking about how I would want to set it up in there.
