I look out my window towards the sky and I see a bird flying in the distance and slowly disappearing in front of my eyes, and the sky remains intact, the sky does not know about the bird and the bird does not know about the immensity of the sky, and I feel many times like that bird, I do not know so many beautiful things about this planet, in fact, I have never left my country, Venezuela, and within my own country when I was able to go for a walk to so many beautiful places here, I did not, and the saying comes to my mind: "Nobody knows what he has until he loses it", but I look at the sky again and now I see two birds, and I smile at the fact that I am not the only one who has had this happen to him, maybe to you too, and this leads me to contemplate the panorama in a different way, the same sky, but I feel it a little different today. The situation we are living with regards to the pandemic, I feel that it has woven invisible threads between all of us, a strong, resistant fabric, a kind of companionship in these difficult times, we are looking for new options to live in peace and optimism, and not allow anything or anyone to end up destroying our faith, our hopes, the heart is a kind of large and deep container, there is space for good and bad, but today more than ever we must be careful with what we put into it, because somehow we are sensitive, and anything negative can easily affect us, so I put in first place the strengthen our optimistic side , I do not mean to be around as if nothing is happening, but to try to see each day as what it is, a gift, a range of situations that by being positive we can face it, live it and even overcome it in the best possible way, is the secret ingredient of the cake, that which no one mentions but somehow everyone knows, last year my older sister had her breast amputated because of breast cancer, but you know what? I feel extremely proud of her, she was always in a good mood, with the enthusiasm that characterizes her and makes a big difference, and that way of being benefits her health and the health of those of us who share her experience, because even though it sounds superficial and even trite, getting up optimistically, in a good mood, simply makes your life a kind of fresh breeze in the middle of the desert.
Miro por mi ventana hacia el cielo y veo un pájaro volar a lo lejos y desaparecer lentamente frente a mis ojos, y el cielo queda intacto, el cielo no sabe del pájaro y el pájaro no sabe de la inmensidad del cielo, y yo me siento muchas veces como ese pájaro, desconozco tantas cosas bellas de este planeta, de hecho, jamás he salido de mi país, Venezuela, y dentro de mi propio país cuando pude salir de paseo a tantos lugares hermosos que hay aquí, no lo hice, y viene a mi mente el dicho: Nadie sabe lo que tiene hasta que lo pierde, pero vuelvo a mirar al cielo y ahora veo dos pájaros, y sonrío por el hecho de pensar que no soy la única que le ha sucedido esto, tal vez a ti también, y esto me lleva a contemplar el panorama de forma diferente, el mismo cielo, pero lo siento hoy un poco diferente. La situación que vivimos en cuanto a la pandemia, siento que ha tejido hilos invisibles entre todos nosotros, un tejido fuerte, resistente, una especie de compañerismo en estos tiempos difíciles, buscamos nuevas opciones para vivir en paz y optimistas, y no permitir que nada ni nadie acabe destruyendo nuestra fe, nuestras esperanzas, el corazón es una especie de contenedor grande y profundo, cabe lo bueno y lo malo, pero hoy más que nunca debemos tener cuidado con lo que metemos en el, porque de alguna manera estamos sensibles, y cualquier cosa negativa puede afectarnos fácilmente, por lo que pongo en primer lugar el fortalecer nuestro lado optimista , no me refiero a estar por allí como si nada estuviera pasando, sino intentar al máximo ver cada día como lo que es, un regalo, un abanico de situaciones que siendo positivos podremos enfrentarlo, vivirlo y hasta superarlo de la mejor forma posible, es el ingrediente secreto del pastel, eso que nadie menciona pero de alguna manera todos saben, el año pasado a mi hermana mayor le amputaron un seno por cáncer de mama, pero saben qué? me siento sumamente orgullosa de ella, siempre estuvo de buen humor, con el entusiasmo que le caracteriza y hace la gran diferencia, y ese modo de estar le beneficia en su salud y en la salud de quienes compartimos su vivencia, porque aunque suene superficial y hasta trillado, levantarse optimista, de buen humor, sencillamente hace que tu vida sea una especie de brisa fresca en medio del desierto.
Recently I heard a song by one of my favorite singer-songwriters, Franco De Vita, called Fragile with a shocking lyric to reflect deeply on what we are, and in it he mentions the following: "I never thought that from something that destroys our lives, we also have to learn" , yes, I was also shaken when I heard it in his song, and that's what we have to hold on to, change is now and is within us, to have a different attitude, optimistic, at least for the children around us, they do not deserve a home full of sorrow, this world needs love, a different attitude, let's try to see the glass half full, for the children, for the elderly, for the one who is by your side, and now more than ever, more than before, let's be sources of light, of a little joy, of optimism.
Hace poco escuché un tema de unos de mis cantautores favoritos, Franco De Vita, llamada Frágiles con una letra impactante para reflexionar profundamente sobre lo que somos, y en ella menciona lo siguiente: "Nunca pensé que de algo que destruye nuestras vidas, también tenemos que aprender" , sí, también me estremeció al escucharlo en su canción, y a eso debemos aferrarnos, el cambio es ahora y está dentro de nosotros, tener una actitud diferente, optimista, al menos por los niños que nos rodean, ellos no merecen un hogar lleno de pesar, este mundo necesita amor, una actitud diferente, intentemos ver el vaso medio lleno, por los niños, por los ancianos, por el que está a tu lado, y ahora más que nunca, más que antes, seamos fuentes de luz, de un poco de alegría, de optimismo.

Since this pandemic began, it has somehow activated in most of us the suiche of survival, the initial question was how long will this last? and as we watch the months go by, the deaths piling up on top of each other, fire in the middle of the street to make the bodies of many of our loved ones disappear, we have all wished at some point in our lives that it would be a bad dream, a nightmare, and waking up is the right thing, being awake to the events of the world, is the right thing, but I also tell you that overloading the sad, bitter side is not the right thing, so it is time to grow up: it's time to learn, it's time to love your neighbor, it's time to heal yourself internally, it's time to forgive yourself, it's time to forgive the other, it's time to cooperate, it's time to share from the soul, it's time to give, and to always take care of yourself in every moment is to give, it's to think of others, to say I take care of myself for you, it's to grow, it's to mature in many aspects, and above all in the spiritual, what is truly important is not sought, is not built, is contemplated from within, the soul, the spirit, it is time to grow.
Es momento de crecer
Desde que esta pandemia comenzó, de alguna forma ha activado en la mayoría de nosotros el suiche de la supervivencia, la pregunta inicial fue ¿hasta cuándo durará esto? y al ver los meses transcurrir, las muertes apilarse una sobre otra, fuego en medio de la calle para desaparecer el cuerpo de muchos de nuestros seres queridos, todos hemos deseado en algún momento de nuestras vidas que sea un mal sueño, una pesadilla, y despertar es lo correcto, estar despierto a los acontecimientos del mundo, es lo correcto, pero también les digo que sobrecargar el lado triste, amargo, no es lo correcto, entonces es tiempo de crecer: es tiempo de aprender, es tiempo de amar al prójimo, es tiempo de curarse internamente, es tiempo de perdonarse, es tiempo de perdonar, es tiempo de cooperar, es tiempo de compartir desde el alma, es tiempo de dar, y cuidarse siempre en cada momento es dar, es pensar en los demás, decir yo me cuido por ti por mi, es crecer, es madurar en muchos aspectos, y sobre todo en lo espiritual, lo verdaderamente importante no se busca, no se construye, se contempla desde adentro, el alma, el espíritu, es momento de crecer.
In these times it is easy to plan, and if we talk about indefinite closures without having to leave the house or change places, planning is indispensable , both at the level of everything we can learn, as in the economic, we need to invest money and time prosperously, and indisputably in family, making decisions with the family and for the family; to the children of the house we must more than ever support them dynamically with school work, we can take advantage of the time to learn with them, a new language, or even do those crafts that we have wanted so much, learn to cook as a family, learn to play chess or teach others to play, in short, the dynamic is to learn and teach what we can.
En estos tiempos se puede fácilmente planificar, y si hablamos de cierres indefinidos sin tener que salir de la casa o cambiar de lugar, es indispensable la planificación , tanto en el nivel de todo lo que podemos aprender, como en lo económico, necesitamos invertir el dinero y el tiempo prósperamente, e indiscutiblemente en familia, tomar decisiones con la familia y en pro de la familia; a los niños de la casa debemos más que nunca apoyarlos dinámicamente con las labores escolares, podemos aprovechar el tiempo para aprender junto a ellos, un nuevo idioma, o hasta hacer esas manualidades que tanto hemos querido, aprender a cocinar en familia, aprender a jugar ajedrez o enseñarle a otros a jugar, en definitiva, la dinámica es de aprender y enseñar lo que podamos.
Now, a "delicate" aspect is the food, and to get it logically requires money, and an option that I recommend a lot is to get a source of income using the Internet, from home you can make a work schedule and devote time to achieve other income; imagine not being able to leave home for a time x, where that x is a reason to wake up a little, and I start thinking about a lasting solution and only get a more efficient option, <buy a small piece of land at least to be able to plant and grow a variety of vegetables, maybe have a cow, some chickens, imagining that is a dream, then scratching my head acknowledging that I don't have the money to do it, but whoever can do it should do it without hesitation, then I search among what I can, and I remember my dear mother-in-law, she has a very beautiful little house and also a very small piece of land in the courtyard of her house, where she has planted: soursop, bananas, lemons, peppers, paprika, and I went to share my concerns with her and proposed her to plant other things, and currently we are backing her (my husband and I) with the new crops, she lives very close to our apartment, and we get along very well, so it's even fun to plan the space and plant there; however this doesn't totally solve the question, because I live in an apartment, at least since the beginning of this whole pandemic thing, I saw the need to grow my herbs for the stews: cilantro and coriander, in small pots, but that's not enough because I would also need to fill my shelves, but what to buy? grains: beans, rice, or other grains, but a lot, a lot, besides keeping in my refrigerator what I can, what I can afford to buy with the money I have, and something I would also do is buy canned food, which I don't normally do, but I recognize that it's an option in that possible situation.
Ahora, un aspecto "delicado" es la comida, y para conseguirla lógicamente se requiere de dinero, y una opción que recomiendo mucho es lograr conseguir una fuente de ingreso usando el Internet, desde casa se puede hacer un horario de trabajo y dedicarle tiempo para lograr otros ingresos, imaginar no poder salir de casa por un tiempo x, donde esa x es motivo para desvelarme un poco, y me pongo a pensar en una solución duradera y sólo consigo una opción más eficiente, comprar una pequeña porción de tierra , al menos, para poder sembrar y cultivar variedad de verduras, tal vez tener una vaca, unas gallinas, imaginar eso es un sueño, luego rasco mi cabeza reconociendo que no tengo el dinero para hacerlo, pero el que pueda hacerlo que lo haga sin dudar, entonces escudriño entre lo que si puedo, y recuerdo a mi querida suegra, ella tiene una casita muy bella y además una muy pequeña porción de tierra en el patio de su casa, donde tiene sembrado: guanábana, plátanos, limones, ajíes, pimentón, y fui a compartirle mis inquietudes y le propuse sembrar otras cosas, y actualmente la estamos apoyando (mi esposo y yo) con los nuevos cultivos, ella vive muy cerca de nuestro apartamento, y nos la llevamos muy bien, así que es hasta divertido planificar el espacio y sembrar allí; sin embargo esto no resuelve totalmente la pregunta, porque vivo en un apartamento, al menos desde que empezó todo esto de la pandemia, vi la necesidad de cultivar mis hierbas para los guisos: cilantro, culantro, en pequeñas masetas, pero eso no es suficiente porque también necesitaría llenar mis anaqueles, pero ¿qué comprar? granos: caraotas, frijoles, arroz, u otros granos, pero mucho, mucho, además de mantener en mi refrigerador lo que pueda, lo que me alcance comprar con el dinero que poseo, y algo que tambien haría es comprar comida enlatada, lo que no hago normalmente, pero reconozco que es una opción frente a esa posible situación.

La creatividad nos acompaña hoy más que nunca, y sobre todo por acá, por Venezuela, donde el costo de los alimentos se triplica y donde el costo de los alimentos varía de un día a otro, por lo que somos chef creativos, muy creativos en la cocina, intentamos llevar a la mesa el alimento, con amor, es tiempo que nos une, es momento de aprender, y la creatividad es como una flor en el camino, hermosea el momento, transforma, y aparte de ser optimista les recomiendo que saquen el escudo de la creatividad como parte de su día a día, ser creativos en las planificaciones, ser creativos en la cocina, ser creativo a la hora de exponerle estas realidades a nuestros pequeños a nuestros ancianos, si vamos a estar juntos sin salir por un tiempo x, es mejor ser creativos.

Abiertamente les digo que debemos tener la mente centrada en el ahora, para no comprometer la paz mental, pensar demasiado en lo que tal vez sucederá puede llegar a afectar tu bienestar, tu salud, por lo que recomiendo hacer algo de ejercicio, ejercicios de meditación o relajación, y así mantendremos un equilibrio, entre lo que es y lo que puede ser, no debemos abandonarnos por el hecho de mantenernos en cuarentena, estar activo físicamente aunque sea bailando con nuestros hijos, unos minutos al día, hará la diferencia.
