It's my first time writing in this community, and I'm excited to find a space where I can share my k-dramas reviews. This time, I want to recommend you my top 3 k-dramas from Gong Yoo.
If you've been watching Korean dramas for a while, I'm sure you recognize him. One of the first dramas I watched starred him and I was completely enchanted. It's undeniable how talented he is, plus he's not a face you can easily forget! I totally understand the ladies who are super Chayanne fans after seeing him, hahaha.
1.- Coffee Prince
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Choi Han gyeol (Gong Yoo), a spoiled heir who has never had a real job or accepted any responsibilities. His grandmother gives him an ultimatum: he must prove himself worthy by taking over a bankrupt coffee shop.
Go Eun chan (Yoon Eun hye), a 24-year-old with an androgynous appearance (short hair and masculine attire), is constantly mistaken for a man. Han gyeol decides to renovate and reopen the coffee shop, “Coffee Prince,” by hiring only attractive men to attract female customers. Eun chan joins the team, pretending to be a boy.
My opinion:
Coffee Prince manages to move without overdoing it. It takes unusual situations and makes them relatable, thanks to sincere characters, human reactions and everyday moments that feel real. Although it starts from clichés like rich-poor romance or gender disguise, it is very entertaining and has its charm.
2.- Goblin (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God)
Synopsis:
Kim Shin (Gong Yoo), a Goryeo era general, is betrayed and killed, but is resurrected as an immortal goblin with a sword stuck in his chest. Only his fated bride can extract it and free him from his curse.
Nearly 900 years later, Ji Eun tak, a cheerful student who can see spirits, accidentally summons it and turns out to be the one chosen to change his fate.
My opinion:
It was the first drama I watched by Gong Yoo, and I am very fond of it. If I'm asked for a recommendation, it's always among the first ones I mention. I hadn't read the synopsis before watching it, so I was really surprised. I love fantasy, and this drama combines supernatural elements, comedy, and a deep story that make you love it.Special mention for the secondary couple: they didn't stay in the background as it usually happens. They have a heart-breaking story and a unique chemistry.
3.- Train to Busan (Movie)
Synopsis:
If you are not that much of a fan of series but love movies, you definitely have to watch Train to Busan. A mysterious viral outbreak turns people into aggressive zombies in South Korea. A group of passengers try to survive while traveling on a high-speed train from Seoul to Busan, one of the few cities that still offers shelter.
Among them is Seok-woo (Gong Yoo), a father who is very focused on his work, trying to protect his young daughter, Su-an. What starts as a simple family trip turns into a desperate race for survival, confronting not only the undead, but also the dehumanization and selfishness that arise in the chaos.
My opinion:
I don't usually watch zombie-themed movies or series, but this one completely captured my attention. Although it's about survival in the midst of the apocalypse, it has a very emotional side, with well-built characters, human conflict, sacrifices, and a beautiful father-daughter relationship. All that with a moving train, it's intense, but it's so well done that it's totally worth it.

Es la primera vez que escribo en esta comunidad, y estoy emocionada por encontrar un espacio donde puedo compartir mis reseñas sobre k-dramas. En esta oportunidad, quiero recomendarles mi top 3 de K-dramas de Gong Yoo.
Si llevas tiempo viendo dramas coreanos, seguro lo reconoces. Uno de los primeros dramas que vi fue protagonizado por él y quedé completamente encantada. Es innegable el talento que tiene, ¡y además no es una cara que puedas olvidar fácilmente! Comprendo totalmente a las señoras que son súper fanáticas de Chayanne después de verlo a él, jajaja.
1.- Coffee Prince
Sinopsis:
La historia gira en torno a Choi Han gyeol (Gong Yoo), un heredero mimado que nunca ha tenido un trabajo real ni ha aceptado responsabilidades. Su abuela le da un ultimátum: debe demostrar que vale la pena haciéndose cargo de una cafetería en quiebra.
Go Eun chan (Yoon Eun hye), una joven de 24 años con una apariencia andrógina (pelo corto y atuendo masculino), es constantemente confundida con un hombre. Han gyeol decide renovar y reabrir la cafetería, “Coffee Prince”, contratando solo a hombres atractivos para atraer clientas. Eun chan se une al equipo, fingiendo ser un chico.
Mi opinión:
Coffee Prince logra emocionar sin necesidad de exagerar. Toma situaciones inusuales y las vuelve cercanas, gracias a personajes sinceros, reacciones humanas y momentos cotidianos que se sienten reales. Aunque parte de clichés como el romance rico-pobre o el disfraz de género, es muy entretenido y tiene su encanto.

Kim Shin (Gong Yoo), un general de la era Goryeo, es traicionado y asesinado, pero resucita como un goblin inmortal con una espada clavada en el pecho. Solo su novia predestinada puede extraerla y liberarlo de su maldición.
Casi 900 años después, Ji Eun tak, una alegre estudiante que puede ver espíritus, lo invoca accidentalmente y resulta ser la elegida para cambiar su destino.
Mi opinión:
Fue el primer drama que vi de Gong Yoo, y le tengo mucho cariño. Si me piden una recomendación, siempre está entre los primeros que menciono. No había leído la sinopsis antes de verlo, así que me sorprendió muchísimo. Me encanta la fantasía, y este drama combina elementos sobrenaturales, comedia y una historia profunda que te hacen amarlo.
Mención especial para la pareja secundaria: no quedaron en segundo plano como suele pasar. Tienen una historia que te rompe el corazón y una química única.
3.- Train to Busan (Película)
Sinopsis:
Si no eres tan fan de las series pero te encantan las películas, definitivamente tienes que ver Train to Busan. Un misterioso brote viral convierte a las personas en zombis agresivos en Corea del Sur. Un grupo de pasajeros intenta sobrevivir mientras viajan en un tren de alta velocidad desde Seúl hasta Busan, una de las pocas ciudades que aún ofrece refugio.
Entre ellos está Seok-woo (Gong Yoo), un padre muy centrado en su trabajo, que trata de proteger a su pequeña hija, Su-an. Lo que empieza como un simple viaje familiar se transforma en una carrera desesperada por la supervivencia, enfrentando no solo a los muertos vivientes, sino también a la deshumanización y el egoísmo que surgen en el caos.
Mi opinión:
No suelo ver películas o series con temática de zombis, pero esta captó mi atención por completo. Aunque trata sobre la supervivencia en medio del apocalipsis, tiene un lado muy emocional, con personajes bien construidos, conflictos humanos, sacrificios y una hermosa relación padre-hija. Todo eso con un tren en movimiento, es intensa, pero está tan bien hecha que vale totalmente la pena.
