Listening or reading the word Blockchain can't help but have a major effect on my ears and especially on my thoughts and most beautiful memories. And so, writing this publication, in unison I say.
How is my life before and after the blockchain?

Before the blockchain
Money is a powerful force that moves the world from many sides and situations. I am Venezuelan, not at all familiar with the financial world in a broad sense but in the most basic and easy way, I would say.
I was managing until almost three years ago, in a financial environment based only on Bolivars (the currency of my country) and then, in more recent times, on the American dollar (USD) which has become the currency that governs the Bolivar and prices in my country.
We have an economy dollarized in prices but paid in salaries with Bolivars, a currency devalued and devoured by the hyperinflation that governs us from a few years to today.
Salaries in my country are in Bolivars, very low for what is required to cover concerning the prices of items, goods, and services.

I am a bioanalyst, I work for a public organization and my salary is really low about the current inflation. And as in my situation, the majority of the population is found.
Some have had to emigrate in search of a better future, and others, like me, decided to stay here and continue, even if it's sometimes very uphill. In both cases, it is difficult and a tough and complicated struggle for all the times and situations mentioned.
Because of this situation, many of us have had to look for a second income that would allow us to solve our needs and our family's economic situation, a second job if we want to call it that.
This is where the blockchain enters my life, a drastic change, for my well-being from every point of view.

After the blockchain
In January 2018, almost three years ago, I came to know a world of money beyond the bolivars and the American dollar, and I entered, by chance and without knowledge, a universe that was governed by something they called crypto-currencies, virtual currencies with value in the financial market.
How did I earn that money? Well, by creating content, that is, by writing my inspirations in a blog. Then, that content would be read, voted, and evaluated by people called Curators, after which I would be assigned a reward.
It seemed very easy and comfortable, although it wasn't that easy. In that way, I met a lot of people and learned things about crypto-currencies, tokens. I heard for the first time about a different world, virtual currencies but which were worth much more than the Bolivar of my land.
And so I started, with very low rewards, learning, asking, evolving, growing. I heard the name of a great great, the king I call him. Beyond the American dollar (USD), there was the Bitcoin (BTC) ruling this virtual but very real world. I also heard about Litecoin, Ethereum, and a few others that I can't remember.

Now, as I said at the beginning, I know nothing about finance and I ask everything. However, I ask and I have learned something but, the most important thing is what the blockchain has given me and what it has become in my life.
The blockchain is the one that currently helps me to support my household expenses. With the crypto-currencies generated by my content creation, I buy food for my home, essential medicines, I pay for my son's college.
There are so many and so many things in which the blockchain helps me, that there is nothing left for me to do but to be grateful every day, to be in this world that has given me and continues to give me support and satisfaction from every point of view.

With my work in the blockchain, I was able to fix the air conditioning in my room after a year of not being able to raise the money for it. I bought an electric stove that helped me solve the problem of the domestic gas crisis in my country. There are many things to be thankful for, that a publication would fall short of.

My electric stove was purchased with money from my work at the blockchain.

The blockchain has helped solve and support the economic life of many Venezuelans. Today I can only give thanks and more thanks for this blessing.
I am ready to retire from my current job after 31 years of work. Before, I felt a lot of fear and uncertainty about tomorrow and my economic destiny. Today, that is in the past.

The blockchain and my work at Hive, took away that fear. I know what I will continue to do when the time comes: to earn money, doing what I love and like most, writing.

Long live the blockchain and the beehive.
May it continue to provide us with this means
of continuing to generate income and
well-being for many, including our loved ones.
