At some point in life we have all gone through situations in which we have made the decision to start certain habits to improve our overall health or simply implement certain habits to keep us well and so on, it all depends on each person and the situation they are living.
Some time ago, I was going through situations (which I had already gone through) but this time I had to change and improve tactics. I started to fully implement habits for my health, these include, taking care of my meals, physical exercises, taking time for myself, meditation and the famous mindfulness. It seems like a lot and sometimes there is no exact time for everything for various reasons, but over the days I also learned how to accommodate each thing and adapt to others.
Before starting anything, I had to first handle meditation, as I needed to relax and center myself before doing anything or making any decisions. In those days I was quite nervous and would get worked up over nothing, so meditation was my first place of support.
I understand that there are several meditation techniques and each one has its name, but to be honest I am not very good at remembering the names, so I can only comment on the technique that I use and it has worked for me. I started to implement it in the mornings, afternoons and evenings and I still keep that guide.
First I breathe normally to loosen the body and feel a little release of tensions, then I inhale deeply to fill the abdomen and hold that breath for a few seconds, and then slowly release through the mouth. I repeat this event a couple of times more. It seems super simple, but patience and control of this is something fundamental to really be able to relax.
After that, I do other things that can help me, this is where I implement mindfulness. I have read and I have seen in social networks some practices to start doing this habit and to be honest, I still keep those practices.
I try not to do several activities at the same time, I give myself time for each thing calmly.
I am aware of the things that happen in my life, good or bad, of everything that comes and goes and everything that I perceive in the moment.
I don't judge, I just listen and become present, I feel really present to it.
I focus on what is happening in that moment, even my breathing, I have to understand that I have to be here, in the present and accept it.
I honestly don't know how many things there are exactly about this or how long each thing should last, mindfulness is something new for me to put into practice but this way I am managing it for the moment.
This for me is a main base for my mental and obviously physical health, but it is also a way to feel good and feel like being able to do other things, which are also part of my habits. I started to exercise, to go for walks, to take care of my diet and of course to increase my water consumption, since I had decreased that a lot. Now I always have a bottle of water by my side. There are times when I can not keep a schedule for exercise for personal reasons, but I look for ways to not miss it during the week, if I can not exercise, I go for a walk directly or vice versa, I try to have balance in finding ways to not leave it aside.
I started to take care of my diet, but of course, this can also vary or become a little difficult. You have to remember that sometimes the economic issue can affect some people, with this I mean that in certain places vegetables or fruits and other foods are usually expensive, then, we must find some ways to have a good diet in a way that also goes hand in hand with our wallet. Now based on me, one main thing is that I don't diet and therefore I don't buy so many things per se.
I learned to eat everything without having to forbid myself anything. You have to learn to manage quantities. For example, if I want to eat a salty snack, I won't eat it all, just a little bit to get rid of the craving or I look for a healthy snack, but I still take care of the amount I eat. It is very important to know that it is not necessary to stop eating something for such a thing, but you have to balance and learn how to eat.
Sometimes there are no fixed schedules for all these things, but the idea is to keep it up, I also sometimes write down what I am going to do or consume as a method of support. There are many ways to take care of yourself physically and mentally, the main thing in all of this is to be consistent and look for ways instead of letting your guard down for whatever reason there is. Of course, it varies per person and situation. Each one will really know what works for them and what doesn't, in this case, this helped me and is helping me, obviously I am open to know more ways that can help me.

En algún momento de la vida todos hemos pasado por situaciones en las cuales hemos tomado la decisión de comenzar ciertos hábitos para la mejora de nuestra salud en general o también, simplemente implementar ciertos hábitos para mantenernos bien y así, todo depende de cada persona y la situación que esté viviendo.
Hace un tiempo, estuve pasando situaciones (las cuales ya había pasado) pero esta vez debía cambiar y mejorar tácticas. Empecé a implementar de lleno hábitos para mi salud, en estos se incluyen, el cuidado de las comidas, ejercicios físicos, tomar un tiempo para mí misma, la meditación y el famoso mindfulness. Parece mucho y hay veces que no hay tiempo exacto para todo por diversos motivos, pero a lo largo de los días fui aprendiendo también cómo acomodar cada cosa y adaptarme a otras.
Antes de empezar cualquier cosa, debía primero manejar la meditación, ya que necesitaba relajarme y centrarme antes de hacer cualquier cosa o tomar cualquier decisión. En esos días yo estaba bastante nerviosa y me exaltaba por nada, por lo que la meditación era mi primer lugar de apoyo.
Tengo entendido que hay varias técnicas de meditación y cada una tiene su nombre, pero siendo sincera no soy de recordar mucho los nombres, así que solo puedo comentar la técnica que yo uso y me ha servido. Yo empecé a implementar eso en las mañanas, en las tardes y las noches y aún mantengo esa guía.
Primero respiro normal para ir aflojando el cuerpo y sentir un poco de liberación de tensiones, luego inhale profundamente hasta llenar el abdomen y mantener esa respiración unos segundos, para finalizar suelto lentamente por la boca. Repito este suceso un par de veces más. Parece super sencillo, pero la paciencia y el control de esto es algo fundamental para realmente poder relajarme.
Luego de eso, hago otras cosas que me pueden ayudar, aquí es donde yo implemento el mindfulness. He leído y he visto en las redes sociales algunas prácticas como para ir comenzando a realizar este hábito y siendo honesta, aun mantengo esas prácticas.
Trato de no realizar varias actividades al mismo tiempo, me doy mi tiempo para cada cosa con calma.
Soy consciente de las cosas que ocurren en mi vida, buenas o malas, de todo lo que va y viene y todo lo que percibo en el momento.
No juzgo, solo escucho y me hago presente, me siento realmente presente de eso.
Me centro en lo que ocurre en ese momento, hasta mi respiración, debo entender que debo estar acá, en el presente y aceptarlo.
Sinceramente no sé cuántas cosas hay con exactitud sobre esto o cuánto debe durar cada cosa, el mindfulness es algo nuevo para mí de ponerlo en práctica pero de esta manera lo estoy manejando por el momento.
Esto para mí es una base principal para mi salud mental y obviamente física, pero también es una manera de sentirme bien y con ganas para poder realizar otras cosas, que son también parte de mis hábitos. Empecé a realizar ejercicios, a salir a caminar, a cuidar mi alimentación y por supuesto aumentar el consumo de agua, ya que había disminuido mucho eso. Ahora siempre estoy con una botella de agua a mi lado. Hay veces que no puedo mantener un horario para los ejercicios por motivos personales, pero busco la manera de que no me falten en la semana, si no puedo ejercitarme, salgo a caminar directamente o viceversa, trato de tener equilibrio en buscar las maneras para no dejarlo de lado.
Comencé a cuidar mi alimentación, pero claro, esto también puede variar o volverse un poco difícil. Hay que recordar que, a veces, a algunos les puede afectar el tema económico, con esto voy a que en ciertos lugares las verduras o las frutas y otros alimentos suelen ser costosas, entonces, hay que buscar algunas maneras de tener una alimentación buena de manera que también vaya de la mano con nuestra billetera. Ahora basado en mi, algo principal es que no hago dieta y por lo tanto yo no compro tantas cosas en sí.
Aprendí a comer de todo sin necesidad de prohibirme nada. Hay que aprender a manejar cantidades. Por ejemplo si quiero comer un snack salado, no voy a comerme todo, solo un poco para sacarme el antojo o directamente busco algún snack saludable, pero igual cuido la cantidad que consumo. Es muy importante saber que no es necesario dejar de comer algo para tal cosa, sino que hay que equilibrar y aprender a comer.
A veces no hay horarios fijos para todas estas cosas, pero la idea de que se mantenga, yo también suelo anotar a veces lo que vaya a hacer o consumir como método de apoyo. Hay muchas maneras de cuidarse física y mentalmente, lo principal de todo esto es que seamos constantes y busquemos maneras en vez de bajar la guardia por cualquier motivo que haya. Claro, varía por persona y situación. Cada uno sabrá realmente qué le sirve y qué no, en este caso, esto me sirvió y me está sirviendo a mi, obviamente estoy abierta a conocer más maneras que puedan servirme.
