I share my participation in the #200 edition of the quiz to which the Ladies of Hive invite us, weekly. On this occasion, I am going to answer the second question of the two that our friend @priyanarc has proposed for this week:
How do you deal with failure and what do you learn from it?
Failure is something we all experience at some point in our lives, and although, at first, it can be frustrating and difficult to assimilate, I have learned to see it as an opportunity to learn and evolve. When things don't turn out as I expected, my first feelings are usually of disappointment and disillusionment, but over time, I have come to understand that failure is not the end, but rather an opportunity to become a better person.

Comparto mi participación en la edición #200 del concurso al que nos invitan, semanalmente, las Damas de Hive. En esta ocasión, voy a responder la segunda pregunta de las dos que nos ha propuesto la amiga @priyanarc para esta semana:
¿Cómo afrontas el fracaso y qué aprendes de él?
El fracaso es algo que todos experimentamos en algún momento de nuestras vidas, y aunque, al principio, puede ser frustrante y difícil de asimilar, he aprendido a verlo como una oportunidad para aprender y evolucionar. Cuando las cosas no resultan como esperaba, mis primeros sentimientos suelen ser de desilusión y decepción, pero con el tiempo, he llegado a comprender que fracasar no es el fin, sino que es una oportunidad para ser una mejor persona.

I wanted to answer this question because, precisely, I am reading the book Terapia para llevar by Ana Pérez, a luminous book in which she offers us psychological tools to get through the day in the best way, and in the first chapter she talks about failure and how we should face it. Here I will mention some aspects that she addresses in the book, and I want to take this opportunity to recommend reading it.
One of the first recommendations is to accept what we feel. The author invites us to feel whatever we need to feel: sadness, disappointment or anger. I think it is certainly important to acknowledge our emotions in order to process them and move forward. Sometimes, it's not that I made a big mistake, but that I overlooked some, albeit small, important details. Other times, I realize that my initial plan was not well thought out, and this leads me to accept failure and change everything to make it better.
Another recommendation that resonated with me is not to take failures personally because a mistake made does not determine or define me as a person. The most valuable thing I have learned from making mistakes or failing in my goals is the importance of being perseverant and not giving up until I achieve my purpose. Some of the failures I have had in my life have taught me to be more resilient and creative, to not be afraid to try new things and to accept that being wrong is part of the learning process.
In addition, each failure has allowed me to get to know myself better, recognizing my weaknesses and strengths, and understanding how these characteristics contribute to shaping the person I am. I have learned not to be so hard on myself and to celebrate the small accomplishments instead of focusing on what went wrong. Thus, every failure I have experienced has given me the confidence that, even if I fall, I can always get up and keep going until I achieve what I want.
Quise responder esta pregunta porque, justamente, estoy leyendo el libro Terapia para llevar de Ana Pérez, un libro luminoso en el que nos ofrece herramientas psicológicas para llevar el día de la mejor manera, y en el primer capítulo nos habla del fracaso y de cómo deberíamos afrontarlo. Aquí mencionaré algunos aspectos que ella aborda en el libro, y quiero aprovechar para recomendar su lectura.
Una de las primeras recomendaciones es aceptar lo que sentimos. La autora nos invita a sentir lo que sea necesario: tristeza, decepción o rabia. Creo que, ciertamente, es importante reconocer nuestras emociones para poder procesarlas y avanzar. A veces, no se trata de que haya cometido un gran error, sino que pasé por alto algunos detalles, aunque pequeños, importantes. Otras veces, me doy cuenta de que mi plan inicial no estaba bien planteado, y esto me lleva a aceptar el fracaso y a cambiarlo todo para que salga mejor.
Otra recomendación que resonó en mí es la de no tomar los fracasos como algo personal porque un error cometido no me determina ni me define como persona. Lo más valioso que he aprendido de cometer errores o fracasar en mis objetivos es la importancia de ser perseverante y no desmayar hasta conseguir mi propósito. Algunos de los fracasos que he tenido en mi vida me han enseñado a ser más resiliente y creativa, a no tener miedo de probar cosas nuevas y a aceptar que equivocarme es parte del proceso de aprender.
Además, cada fracaso me ha permitido conocerme mejor, reconociendo mis debilidades y fortalezas, y entendiendo cómo estas características contribuyen a formar la persona que soy. He aprendido a no ser tan dura conmigo misma y a celebrar los pequeños logros en lugar de enfocarme en lo que salió mal. Así pues, cada fracaso vivido me ha dado la confianza de que, aunque caiga, siempre podré levantarme y seguir adelante hasta lograr lo que quiero.
The chapter on failure in the book Therapy to Go ends with a paragraph that I take the liberty of quoting to close my participation and I hope it will resonate with all my readers:
“The one who fails is the one who quits, because, as long as you try and try hard, you have a chance to achieve your goal. Be proud of your successes and failures because they have gotten you to where you are today.
