Good day, amazing people of Hive Blockchain! Welcome back to my blog. This is another edition in the Ladies of Hive community topic: what was your favourite TV show as a child, and why did you like it? Do you think it influenced your personality in any way as an adult?
This topic just took me back to memory lane. I can remember when @cindynancy was still a child sitting at the sitting watching cartoons, laughing with her siblings. Life, they say, is stage by stage, and I have outgrown that stage. I can remember telling my mom that I want to be like Barbie. Anything Barbie had, I would cry for Mom to get for me.
When growing up, I watched a lot of cartoons. As a kid, my parent bought a lot of cartoons for me and my siblings. Most times, my friends would come to my house to borrow most of our cartoons. I would be lying if I said these cartoons didn’t shape me into the woman I am today.
My favourite show is Barbie. What made me love the show? When you hear of someone who is too good, you will make mention of Barbie. I love the fact that Barbie is creative; she believes in her dream, and she can go the extra miles to make sure her dreams come to reality. Barbie made me believe that you can be anything you want to be just by believing in yourself. Barbie believes so much in her dream. I have watched many series of Barbie, and she believes in herself; she is determined and focused.
When you talk about a leader, Barbie is an example. She understands what it means to be a leader; she carries everyone along, she is accommodating, and she is a good influencer. One thing about Barbie is she motivates kids. This is the kind of cartoon kids should watch because it will help reshape them and motivate them.
Seriously, Barbie has really helped me to be the woman I dreamt of, although I am still growing, but looking at the things I have been able to achieve, I am super proud of myself. Barbie is my role model; she has inspired me in many ways. Self-confidence, industriousness and focus – her energy is top-notch.
I want to play the role of Barbie in some people's lives and advocate for girl children, rewriting some history. If opportunities are given to the female gender, we will change things. I want to build people that are independent, confident and have high self-esteem.
Conclusion: as a parent, you should be careful of the things your child watches. One thing about kids is they find it hard to erase memories.
