➋ I was a perfectionist as a teenager, and I thought that I had to control everything. I would advise me to relax a bit more and not be so serious. Avoid taking on responsibilities that weren't mine. Laughing at problems would have saved me a lot of anguish.
➌ Something very important is to help me understand why I should avoid the company of certain people, even if I like to be with them. I know it would be difficult for me to accept this advice, because it was very important for me to be accepted by people and to have friends.
Reflecting on your personal journey, what achievements stand out as your proudest moments?
➊ The first achievement I am proud of is that I have gained enough emotional intelligence to cope with the difficult situations that have come my way in life, despite having a mental disorder. I know that there are many who are unable to maintain composure and make decisions with mental clarity; and I am very proud of the fact that I use negative events as advantages instead of reasons for negative self-pity.
➋ The second achievement is being able to take care of myself and support myself in a physical sense, and being independent from my parents. Showing me that I was capable of doing it, even if I didn't feel strong enough to do anything, made me see the inner strength that we human beings have, and that we often don't know until we are pushed to the very end.
For many people these things are very simple and do not constitute a real achievement, but for me it is everything, because I think it would do me no good to have an academic degree or to have a lot of money if I cannot maintain peace of mind.
