Since I left home to study in another location I started to learn, stand up for myself and strive to achieve my goals and objectives. I learned to value what I had left behind; my home with family, my grandmother, parents, siblings and friends.
Hola mi querida y respetada comunidad @lafiesofhive. Me da gusto estar aquí y participar en tan importante iniciativa la cual llamó mi atención. Me complace compartir mi contenido y así continuar apoyando los proyectos de calidad. En esta ocasión me incliné a responder con mi experiencia la primera interrogante esperando sea de su agrado.

Desde que salí de mi casa a estudiar a otra localidad comencé a aprender, defenderme y esforzarme por lograr mis metas y objetivos. Aprendí a valorar lo que había dejado; Mi hogar con familia mi abuela, padres, hermanos y amigos.

I am telling you this because I learned to value the family and personal effort in the main goal of my life, which at that stage was to graduate.
I achieved my goal, thank God, but there began other learning, challenges and challenges such as finding a job in a company where I could practice my profession; a job that met my expectations in terms of stability, work environment and remuneration among other important benefits.
It is here where I had that uncomfortable experience when one day a Director of the company called me to attend a work meeting. I had never personally exchanged words with this Director. He was a man of quite an age compared to mine. Although the meetings were normal and routine among department heads, it should be noted that at that time I was not in charge of any employee.
A pesar de la distancia contaba con el apoyo incondicional de mi familia y su confianza. Estos aspectos me acompañaron a lo largo de mis estudios. Sin embargo, eran muchos los gastos que se ocasionaron y el aporte económico recibido no era suficiente. Razones que me impulsaron a trabajar en fines de semana y tiempo libre. Esto se los comento porque aprendí a valorar el esfuerzo familiar y personal en la meta principal de mi vida, que en esa etapa era graduarme.
Logré mi meta a Dios gracias pero allí comenzaron otros aprendizajes, retos y desafíos como lo fué encontrar un trabajo en una empresa en donde ejercer mi profesión; que cumpliera con mis expectativas en cuanto a estabilidad, ambiente laboral y remuneración entre otros beneficios importantes.
Es aquí a donde tuve esa vivencia incómoda cuando un día un Directivo de la empresa; me llamó a asistir a una reunión de trabajo. A este Director nunca había intercambiado palabras personalmente. Era un señor de bastante edad en comparación a la mía. Aunque las reuniones era normales y rutinarias entre los jefes de departamento, cabe destacar que en ese momento no tenía a mi cargo a ningún trabajador.

Reasons that may be questionable but for me were enough to not accept.
Cuando llegué a la reunión a la hora pautada me extrañó que sólo estaba el Director y yo. Así que comenzó con decir palabras de elogio a mi desempeño como
como ingeniero y el avance de mi condición laboral para optar a un cargo fijo en la empresa.
Cabe destacar que era típico contratar a profesionales por más tiempo del que la ley laboral establecia antes de quedar fijo. Después de manifestar todo en relación a mi condición laboral y antes terminar con su intervención me hace una invitación a salir a un sitio nocturno conocido en la ciudad.
Invitación que me incomodó mucho porque no lo esperaba y además de muchas razones que pudiera señalar; mi reacción fué inmediata allí tuve que pensar rápido y quería que me tragara la tierra. Ésta invitación o cita no sé si decir inapropiada, ya que nunca había compartido con esa persona más allá del trabajo, era un señor casado y además no estaba bien visto relacionarse con jefes de la misma empresa. Razones que pueden ser cuestionables pero para mí eran suficientes para no aceptar.

This experience, experience or anecdote was very important for me because it made me reflect, open my eyes, be alert and know how to handle myself carefully in a work environment that at that time was characterized by machismo, prejudice, discredit and humiliation of women.
Women must value and respect ourselves. Defend our rights, value what we are in any area of life and stand out for our talents and efforts obtained under principles, values and code of professional and personal ethics.
En aquel momento fué muy incómodo porque debia decir "NO" de una forma elegante y con respecto, transmitir seguridad y firmeza. Les confieso que en aquel momento sentí temor y miedo a afectar mi estabilidad laboral. Les cuento que es el No que más valoro en mi vida, fué tan corto tiempo para pensar y expresar ese no.
Agradezco que esa persona no insistiera y que desde ese día debía ser más cuidadosa y sobretodo seguir preparándome, superándome como profesional. ¿Qué interpretación tiene para ustedes esa invitación? ¿Qué creen ustedes que debí responder?
Esta experiencia, vivencia o anécdota fué muy importante para mí ya que me hizo reflexionar, abrir los ojos, estar alerta y saber manejarme con cuidado en un ambiente de trabajo que en ese momento el machismo, prejuicios, desprestigio y humillación a las mujeres estaban presentes
Las mujeres debemos valorarnos y respetarnos a nosotras mismas. Defender nuestros derechos, valorar lo que somos en cualquier ámbito de la vida y destacar por nuestros talentos y esfuerzos obtenidos bajo principios, valores y código de ética profesional y personal.
