What actions do you recommend to keep control in difficult moments?
In my difficult moment,what I do to keep myself out of any situations are highlighted below:
- Music
Anytime I'm in distress, music comforts me. It can be any gospel songs most especially worship songs. I used this to take away my pain and also aknowledge God for who he is. Whenever my spirit is down, music lifts my soul,it takes me away from any negative thoughts. Music is an inspiration to me.
- Self conscious of my judgement
In difficult times, all I try to do is to be conscious of my thoughts not to say negative things, observe my feelings and thoughts. Before I can react to any situation I might found myself, I weighed it 100% and give it a thorough thought. Negative thoughts can worsen difficult situations if one is not careful. I try to be positive in my way of thinking towards the challenge at hand *An idle mind is a devil's workshop *I am always at alert!
- Prayer
I'm a lover of God and worshiper to the core. I believe in the faith speaking church I attend. I will go to the lord in prayer in my darkest moment because he is aware of the happenings, so why not committ all to God to take absolute control? Go to the Lord in prayer, carry the matter to him and listen to hear directly from God. God speaks to everyone, we just need to listen.
- Self worth
How do I see myself at that moment? I like to engage in things that will help me such as engaging in exercise, taking a deep sleep, eating balanced diet,taking myself out to dinner and fun places. Go to parties and catch a lot of fun. All these help me to while away my difficult moment.
- Talking to someone
The first person I think about in difficult moment is my mother. She understands me a lot and with her experience in life. She is the best to guide me on what to do or anyone I can confide in. Sometimes talking to someone can give a relief and emotional support. A problem shared is half solved.
- Reflection
How do I come out of this difficult moment? I try to reflect on the lessons I learnt during my difficult moment, for mistakes not to repeat itself again. I will have to gather enough strength to boost my confidence and stay in control of that situation. Ability to identify the real problem pose a solution Once beaten twice shy.
- Vacation
I can take a break from whatever in order for me to heal, take a stroll with someone closer to me like my husband, change the environment for a while. Some years ago, when I was face with a serious challenge that could lead me into depression,taking a break off help me to gather strength and courage to conquer the difficult time. Vacation is the best solution.
