To be a woman is a full-time job, forgive us when we can’t give a proper answer to the question “What is wrong with you” as a lot is going through our minds and bodies.
Our body is working nonstop, choosing what to accept and discard without our permission. So sometimes, we really don’t know what is wrong with us.
Growing up, I thought becoming a woman was so easy. In my head, I needed to only grow older and become the beautiful woman that I have always wished to be, no stress, no pain, just me becoming a smart and strong woman in one piece. No one schooled me about a lot of things, and no one told me that it would get complicated. No one told me that womanhood is beyond mensuration and procreation like I always knew it to be from an early age.
As a woman, your body is a machine that runs nonstop, a lot is happening in there. There are so many things you can’t do, so many things you need to do, and so many things you need to put in place. It never ends, the cycle never ends until you leave this world and this can be exhausting.
If you ever become careless with your body you have to deal with the consequences, Arrrghh!
One minute, you are fine, the next, you are having a mood swing, and the next, you are feeling bloated, irritated, or even crying. We are just unpredictable!
Don’t get me started with all the pains you have to endure in different phases of your life. Can’t we just have it easy? Can’t we be carefree with our lives and not deal with the consequences later?
Every now and then we have to brace ourselves for cramps, contraction, irritation, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum depression, and many more. Despite going through all of these, we are expected to show up looking pretty and happy like we aren’t going through anything lest we be considered weak.
Regardless of dealing with all of these internally, we are expected to also handle responsibilities professionally, take care of our loved ones, and be there for everyone.
I can’t help but wonder how women were created, and why we are so different from men? Why do our bodies need to go through so many changes and pains?
Navigating womanhood is no easy feat but I am so happy to be a woman.
I love all our unique qualities, I love how we handle pain and I love our genetic makeup, complex yet amazing.
It’s a long road for most of us, but one thing is certain, we’ll figure it out, slow and steady.
To every woman reading this, you are amazing and you deserve the very best of life. You are the real deal so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
The road might be bumpy but you’d be fine.
One love Queens🥳🥳
