What exactly is success, and how will you know when you've arrived at your destination?
When you think about becoming successful, you should begin by thinking about your childhood.
Are we getting there yet?
To what extent do you recall the mantra that was said from the rear seat of the vehicle on such journeys? The only thing that you could have been thinking about was getting to your destination so that you could get out of the vehicle and play. You may have been traveling through some breathtaking landscape, meeting some fascinating people, and having a wonderful conversation with your family.
The vast majority of grownups experience life as if they are still sitting in the rear seat of the automobile. Over and over again, and as a result, they ultimately fail to see what is happening around them.
It would seem that we are so intent on achieving the ultimate objective that we have forgotten that there is a great deal of activity that takes place in the midst. When we accomplish one goal, we immediately begin working toward another goal that is much more ambitious, and we criticize ourselves for not achieving our first goal sooner, more quickly, or in a more effective manner.
Without allowing ourselves to see it, we fail to see that our path to success is a succession of smaller adventures, each of which offers an unlimited number of opportunities for happiness along the way.
We don't allow ourselves to sigh with relief, show gratitude, or bask in the glow of achievement when we reach a comparatively small goal. There is no time for us to take a breath before we dash off to the next one.
The time that we set aside to pause and think about our trip up to this point and the lessons that we have picked up along the way is taken away from us.
The question now is, how can you make this situation better?
The very first thing that you should realize is that life is not just a single destination objective at the end of it. The only thing that can assess your success is not simply a single test after your life. The reality is that life is comprised of a vast number of smaller tests, some of which are evident while others are not so obvious. Success is a process that is based on how well you do on all of these tests put together.
If you are the sort of person who is rational, you should consider making objectives in every aspect of your life. Work, spirit, family, health, and friends are all included in this category. Ask yourself, after you have established your goals if they are attainable. I truly do mean very achievable.
Your large goals should be broken down into smaller, more doable tasks, and you should check them off as you go.
You should make it a point to celebrate every victory, and you should also make it a personal rule that you will not go on to the next stage until you have properly enjoyed the success that you have just accomplished.
Give yourself some time at each stage to think about what you've learned.
Recognize that you have accomplished several wonderful things, as well as those that have room for improvement. Rather than focusing on a drama filled with dread and gloom, the emphasis here should be on a fair appraisal.
Work out what it feels like to be successful if you are the sort of person who is driven by emotions. What kinds of feelings do you connect with being successful? I'm curious about how it feels at the bottom of your tummy.
When you take the time to reflect on your emotions daily, you should think back to the times when you had success on that particular day. For the second time, you are trying to find a balance between your feelings. It is sufficient to say that you have had a great day just because you are still alive and breathing. You should permit yourself to experience the feelings of appreciation and achievement.
To get to the heart of the matter, your chant of are we there yet does not include a single there in its whole. Several instances of these may be found. Stay still, rejoice, and take pleasure in each one. You have achieved a great achievement.
